Looks like just my 2.8 Craftsman, mine says 2.8 18 on the starter cover if I'm not mistaken.
The later ones had that info. The early ones didn't. But generally the 2.8 had an 18" and the 3.3 had a 20". These saws as far as I know were never offered in red/black like the larger frame 3.7s. The model # on the top cover will get you the engine size, also the 2.8 is chrome piston the 3.3 is chrome cylinder I think...

Like this one, was wrong, doesn't have 2.8 18 on cover, Got this one around 1985.

Interesting. So Sears was probably carrying a real solid line up then. Had the 2.3. (S25), the 2800-3300, 3.7 and 5200. I don't think that you could get all those there much past '86 tho

Pretty sure the 3.3 was bare bore as well. S/A Poulan 3300.

I am in the process of moving a 4620 motor into a 2900 chassis because the PO let the muffler come loose and it burned a hole in the oil tank. My problem is that the antivibe attachment to the cylinder head (bolt) snapped off in the head. I think this will make the saw very floppy to use if not dangerous. Any advice on drilling out the broken bolt?

If the bolt is not bottomed out it should spin easy and come out. Try something with a sharp point and see if you can get it to spin.
