Pulpwood saws, you use the end of the bow, not the bottom.

I've watched my dad in my younger years, drop may trees with his homie sxl12 auto, old blue. I've done it a few times myself in my younger days, but not now, just bucking only for me. Pulp wood was big around here when I was growing up.

beetlejuice I aint the guy to talk to about the older stuff. Like mid 80's up to 2000 or so.

That's cool ..I have one saw built after 2000.. Tiss a Stihl 017..the rest that aren't basket cases are at best a headache. Thanks for your time.. K

Pulpwood saws, you use the end of the bow, not the bottom.

I've never run one.. You'd think they'd kick. Like a regular saw

You wouldn't want one to, I've always cut to the side when running one, just an old habit, just in case.

If the dogs were to some how slip off the log, there's nothing to stop the bow coming up, be like a kick back from a straight bar but to me it would be worst. I'm thinking about putting a full top guard on mine to help protect me better just encase.

The old saws that ran bows back when I was younger had no chain brakes, NO such thing like it.

Just got through watching some utube videos on the bow saws, very interesting and they work good. First time ever seeing one cutting

I do like running my, saves my back when the wood is on the ground, if we use the grapples on the bobcat, then it's not so bad cause it's at the right height for me to cut, then I'll swap out to a straight bar.
