Well anything is possible, but its much easier to just find a original S spring clip or make a spacer to fit.
Like I say, the Husky bars will more then likely end up using a odd drive link count for the chain and then your commited to that.
Here is a Poulan 5200 with a large mount Husky 32" bar on it.
Here is a spacer that I made to fit it up.
When your looking for over 24" bars the D176 mount it getting harder to find all the time, thats why I went with Husqvana bars on the bigger saws.
Thats a nice looking Craftsman/Poulan 3800 you got there. Probably just needs a fuel line, tank vent line, duckbill and a carb kit to get it going.

Its not a sprocket tip but still is nice. It says i need the red spacers. Now as far as chain should i go with full chisel or skip tooth?

I thought you wanted a sprocket tip? That Sugihara is a hard tip! Your pushing it anyway with a 24" bar and don't want the extra drag of a hard tip on it.
As far as chains go, depends on what your cutting. You can go either semi chisel or full chisel. They both can be gotten in skip as well. Myself, I wouldnt want a skip in 28" or under especially in hard wood.

Clay, glad to hear your jumping right into the Poulans! I agree with Mark, get a sprocket tip bar. I have 24" Carlton Bush Champ on my Jred 80 and wish Id gotten a sprocket tip.
Back to the Poulans. Here are 2 examples of what is available for our saws. Just as Mark said, here is my 3.7 (3700) with large mount 20" husky bar and spacer. This saw has a 4000 Muffler on it and like I said earlier embarassed a new 460 rancher.
Next is my 4000, this has the MM muffler and a NOS 20" oregon Power Match bar with the D176 mount.

1st Project Saw
Evening all,
I just got a Wild Thing for free...now the saw looks like brand new...but the pull cord is hanging out of it, I have not taking it apart yet...this will be my first project saw...no idea what is wrong with it...oh the cord seems to be attached.
Oh well let the fun begin...I will post pics tomorrow...I will most likely need help with this...so get your fingers ready for typing!:hmm3grin2orange:
Hopefully I can turn this saw into a ripper!:angry2:

3700 should have a nice power increase with a muff mod. Never did a side by side comparison with a non-modded 3700, though.

As a followup. What type of wood are you cutting? 24in. bar for a 61cc saw is stretching it , in my opinion. Much prefer a 20in unless your cutting softwoods like pine or fir.
Another 4000
As many of you know, The 4000 is probably my favorite all-around saw. I just recently got a couple more off the Bay. One has arrived, one hasn't yet. This one is probably the nearest to "new" condition old Poulan that I have yet come across. I was shocked at how nice it is, hardly any wear whatsoever. I'm putting the usual fuel lines, filter carb kit in it, etc. Carb kit hasn't come yet, or the thing would be finished.
I'll post a few pics of it so far, then add some of the whole saw when back together.

3800 OILER ISSUE hey guys...oiler stopped working, and it's NOT possible to push the manual lever down...
