Wow i totally overlooked those oregons, didnt realize they were sprocket tips. Now let me ask yall this can i swap out the bar studs to mount a more common size bar?
Well as promised here is my new saw, Craftsman 3.7/20 still has the safety chain an all. $60 buckers.
Thanks Mark, you been a great help!
I searched ebay a little bit and found a Sugihara 24" bar

Its not a sprocket tip but still is nice. It says i need the red spacers. Now as far as chain should i go with full chisel or skip tooth?
I thought you wanted a sprocket tip? That Sugihara is a hard tip! Your pushing it anyway with a 24" bar and don't want the extra drag of a hard tip on it.
As far as chains go, depends on what your cutting. You can go either semi chisel or full chisel. They both can be gotten in skip as well. Myself, I wouldnt want a skip in 28" or under especially in hard wood.
Dave, Nice 3.7!Lol i know its a hard tip! But its nice, ok i get the drag thing ill just go with that oregon from baileys with a full chisel chain on it. Thanks again!
Ya ill get a nice sprocket tip 24" with a full chisel chain. First thing im going to do when i get is mod the muffler like ModifiedMarks, is it a pretty big power increase? Thanks
3700 should have a nice power increase with a muff mod. Never did a side by side comparison with a non-modded 3700, though.
As a followup. What type of wood are you cutting? 24in. bar for a 61cc saw is stretching it , in my opinion. Much prefer a 20in unless your cutting softwoods like pine or fir.

As many of you know, The 4000 is probably my favorite all-around saw. I just recently got a couple more off the Bay. One has arrived, one hasn't yet. This one is probably the nearest to "new" condition old Poulan that I have yet come across. I was shocked at how nice it is, hardly any wear whatsoever. I'm putting the usual fuel lines, filter carb kit in it, etc. Carb kit hasn't come yet, or the thing would be finished. I'll post a few pics of it so far, then add some of the whole saw when back together.

I am not paying 150 for it...hope it was smart.
Nice find If its got a decent P/C its well worth it in my opinion.
Wish I could find saws like that up north here. Seems most of the big Poulans, especially with a bow, come from down south.
