Wow guys that 4000 on ebay sold for $182 and $20 shipping, I guess $165 bucks I paid for mine wasn't all that bad, and mine had an Oregon 24" bar.

Brad, these saws are made with the bolt holding the clutch cover on.

These saws use the same bar as the walmart poulans so bars are easy to find. Rural king has a new brand of bars and chains called Arnold. The bars are 9.99 and bars with chains are 14.99.

Socket head cap screw.

Yup, S25 CVA w/18" bar from a Wally World Poulan.

When limbing it's all about reach, right?:chainsawguy:

Yea, a little more than I wanted to pay. Chainbrake may have upped the price somewhat.

I'm very sure the chainbrake was worth alot to someone, there not that common that way. Nice clean saw and worth evey penny if you ask me.

Nice safety chain! :monkeyn:

Actually not a bad idea if only used for limbing.

Wasn't Me!:D I love 4000's and that one had the rare chin brake. But I need another 4000 like a hole in the head. Was tempting me though, I will admit.

The 18 was the only loose Poulan b&c I had left from the pile.

Will likely swap it for a 14 from one of the 2150's later.

Need a load test but we have 6" snow on the ground and temp in the mid 20's. Also have an XL to run under load.

S25 duckbill in cap

My S25 Deluxe was spitting fuel, took it over to a local shop & the owners wife
popped a new duck bill in fuel cap.

What they said on the hex head clutch cover bolt, that is the way mine has been
since new.

Poulan 306A

Here are a couple pics of the 306A I just got up and running. An old Poulan lovers collection wouldn't be complete without one. ;) I need to put in a duckbill yet, I used the last one I had, in the 375. Waiting on an order from Poulan.

The saw came with a pretty decent 20" bar, non original. So I thought I might use that on a different saw sometime. I probably wont be using this as a "work saw", so put a 16" bar I had on it.

Gregg,

A little curious about the history of Poulan. I just bought a new PP415 brand new (still in awe of it). What I want to know is who made it. I have heard two different versions. Some are telling me Pioneer and others are telling me Jonsered. Which is it?

Looks good Gregg. Would you mind sharing where you got the bar? I'd like to get a nice 14" for my S25.

BTW, anyone have a good fuel cap for a S25DA? Is there not a nipple to put the duckbill valve on? Mine appears to be broken.

Your 415 is a verison of the original Partner 7700, then was made and marketed by Jonsered.

I'm assuming it was made in the Jonsered factory but thats not for certain.

It does have a made in Sweden patent sticker on it. I'll put the serial on when I pick the saw up. Thanks again Mark.

Brad, Mark did a pictorial on how to replace this with a Homelite duckbill valve. Do a search and you should find it.

No theres no nipple to put one on, its held in place by the small star shaped washer/retainer.

If you use a original Poulan duckbill they slip right in, but the center hole has to be enlarged to use the Homelite duckbill.

If you get with Mike sometime, he knows how to do it since we did his when he was up here.

I use a bic stick pen barrel to drive the reatainer back in. I think I have a picture, I know I posted it before but I'm sure its also buried in this thread to never be found again. LOL
