Not much going on lately, got a few more parts this week and my wallet is hurtin. Happens everytime I have to call Louisville for parts.

Done a little chain testing today, the .325 vrs 3/8s again. A Husqvarna 55 was the subject. Found out that they cut almost identical.

I don't just believe everything that gets posted on this site and I remembered Cliff telling how his closed port 55 would whip his Poulan Pro 330, so I drug my 330 out for a quick grudge match to see the results for myself.

Just as I suspected the 330 whipped the open port 55 by a full second on a frozen piece of 12" oak.

Seeing how the Dolmar 5100s only beat the 330 by .3-.4 seconds in the same type wood in my earlier playing around, I find it hard to believe that a closed port 55 would be much stronger then the 5100S so my doubts on the 330 not being able to hang with it lives on.

Ouch!! :skeleton:

Just figuring when you finally own all the Poulans in the world, or those you haven't doled out mercifully to understudies like me, there really wouldn't be much use for this thread, and wondered if we were at that point. Not yet, I take it? And the tree guys don't use em, not enough machismo for them studs, I guess, so they're not popping in here like they are everywhere else. I'd post pictures of mine, but the camera and me need to have a come to Jesus meeting.

Heck my wallet is still hurtin from Christmas...I really need to get out to the garage and get motivated. Not sure whats wrong with me.

Yeah the Poulans might not be sexy enough for the elite around here, but just look at how many times they are mentioned in the "most durable saw" thread!!!LOL

Now I'm not saying I will be a Poulan regular, but now that I finally have one of their good ones in the stable, I might start reading through here a lot more. I can't have just one and the two box store ones I have left don't count.
