This is my first post in the Poulan thread (urged by Mark & OhioGregg) as I finally got a Poulan. I bought a 3400 new in 1982, sold it, and have been looking for a good one ever since. Not many around here and I have shied away from picking up old ones as spare parts are a problem here in Australia.
I found this 375 and was disappointed because I thought it was a 325, as I actually collect Partners. After a closer look it wagged it's tail at me like a puppy and followed me home.
Seems in good condition and runs really well. It has the Zama carb (which is missing the idle screw), a chain brake and came in the Poulan carry case.
It has quite thin piston rings - are these still available? Looks like it has found a new home.

Al, good to see that good looking saw over here. Its alright you got a thing for Partners, I do too.

So do you have any run time on it yet? If not tell us what you think of it after you do. I think there pretty good. I have not actually run a 375 but like I said there really a Poulan 3700 with a 4000 filter setup on them along with a chainbrake.

Yes it does have the 2 thin ring piston, and as far as I know you can still get them from Poulan. At least I know I got some in the last year.

You can always go to Poulan Pro.com and look up IPL's and parts there. If it allows you to put the part in your cart, you will then know if it can still be had and how much it is.

I don't know how many Poulan dealers or warranty repair centers they have down under but I think you can find that from the Poulan website as well.

Any warranty repair shop should be able to order the Poulan parts even if there not a stocking dealer.

I have no comment on that Zama carb on the 375, as I have no experiance with them on that 375. If its a problem I know a Walbro HDB for any 3400, 3700 or 4000 will work on it.

I know the mufflers are pretty restricted on those models but the come apart easy and are easy to mod.

If you look around there are some pictures of a muffler mod I did on my 3700 with a outlet that looks like the one on a 5200. It works well and really unleashed some power.

I thought you got to run mine at the Poulan GTG last year, Mark. I know Gregg, Mike & Nik did.

I have to remember to check the carb on mine. I thought it was a Walbro on the one I have. I've got a really rough looking 395 out here also that I haven't had the time to investigate.

I don't think I got to run that one! There were lots to try though were there not?

If I did run it, it might not have stood out since I have so much time on 3700's etc.

I do know that your 7700 stood out and I remember that one!

Al.

Nice saw Al. Id like to find an FP like that. I have a 3700 (same as your FP) and I use that saw the most. I have a "Modified Mark Mufller or MMM" on it and that saw runs awesome!

Very nice saws, both of you.

Tropical weather today so I decided on a family pic of the runners. 2150,3450,2900,475 Video is up loading but HD takes forever. Sad when 25 feels warm!

Has not blown yet LOL. It was the first vid I tried to load and it failed. Q'ed at the end of the list now. I think the only saw that cut faster was the 475, will see when I can check the times.

You don't have to blow it up, would be interesting to see how far you can go and have it last a while. But once you start, it hard to "Whoa" all them ponies.

I have a couple "short blocks" for this saw in the pile so no big deal if it blows. As much as I altered the crank "bells" and opened up the ports, honestly would be surprised if it does last long.

The way that the rest of the AS elite talks about them, I'm surprised they ever even start up to burn there way through a few sticks now and then. :hmm3grin2orange:

No @#%^. I had to pull seven times to get my 5100s to fire today. The green machines were one and two.

Although the heated handles make up for the couple extra pulls:silly:

One of the things I'm going to do when it warms up is to try this little 3000 out against the vaunted 5100s.

I'm not thinking it can beat it, but I don't think it will get beat that bad. I really havn't run it much but just the first impression on it was very surprising.
