That is one saw Poulan didn't WANT to drop, it was a Fav Arborist saw, last ones made had a belt ring on them! great saw two fatal flaws.

1 couldn't get it to pass CARB standards

2 very expensive to build as mostly hand built.

they kept it alive as long as they could while trying to come up with a good replacement.

over the years they sure private labled lots of them for other companies!

Yup. My S25DA does have a belt ring.

Ordered it from Bailey's Chainsaw with Poulan PN 530069171, they ordered it straight from Poulan and drop shipped it. It was b#### to get on but was well worth it. All the installation instuctions are from Poulan as well.

Hey Greg, can you make some 3400 clutch cover decals????

Thanks for the part #. As far as the decals, No, I have not made any for the 3400, those are available once in a while on ebay. I,m out of paper for them too, might get some more some time.

I was never happy with the results I was getting with the spray on protective finish for the ones I tried to make. Have tried two different products, and both are the same.

I thought everyone knew mixing Budweiser with Special X makes most things difficult!

Hunter H, I really kinda gave up on making decals, was just something I tried on my pc and inkjet printer. You might try chainsawr.com, I bought a set for a 5200 from them. They are made by SugarCreek supply. Don't know if 5400 decals are being made yet or not.
Gregg,

Thanks I will see if they have them. There is no hurry on them it will be awhile before I am ready for them on the 5400. I have seen the ones for the 3400 on eBay I thought if you were making them I would get them from you first. Most of my projects are on hold just getting some parts together and working on some small stuff. I am still recovering from back surgery. It has been a month but I am still not back to what I should be able to do. They will not let me come back to work either until the doc releases me so funds are kind of tight to be working on extra saws. Just going to take longer than I planed.
Thanks again.
Hunter h

I have an opportunity to buy the craftsman saw in the pictures but do not recognize it. Can anyone tell me if it is made by Poulan and if so what model it copies.

That carb box/air cleaner cover smells of McCulloch 3516 (ish) but them things topped out at 38cc not 55cc.

Take a look at Mac Silver Eagle 2818 and S.E. 3020. Maybe they made them in 55cc disp..

Exactly, it ain't no Poulan.

Thats one of those Tiawan Jeng Feng saws that got Sears and the manufacture in trouble for selling then when they were not EPA certified.

Run away!!!! :ices_rofl:

There were just to many little things on it that did not look Poulan to me but I was not sure. Thanks for the addvice it is staying where it's at.

I've got a couple S25CVAs here to go through. The first one I bought knowing it was pretty rough. It turns out the P&C are trash. It also needs the upper and lower loop handle AV mounts. I've cleaned all the parts up in case I run across the parts it needs to make a runner. Otherwise, there are some good parts there.

The next one here is in better shape with a good P&C. I've got it all apart, but not cleaned up yet.

Brad,

Is that a rim drive sprocket on that saw? I've never seen one if so.

ow you tear them all the way down to clean them!!!! ya just blow em off with a compresser?i see ya have the oil line off did it have an oring on the back of the pump body? or just the one in the oil pick up line.....are you going to post pics of the rebuild?and where can you find a piston for it? how bad was the piston how a pic of the P/C? do you tear them down and replace all the gaskets?

I tear down almost any saw I buy used. That's the only way to know what you've got. I doubt I post pics of the rebuild, but will once it's all together. Lots of the plating was gone from the cylinder and the piston was very scored. It went in the trash, where it belonged. No saving this one. I do have new gaskets to put this last one back together.
