Paul, I have never took one of those apart, heck I never see those things. I think we did order one in for a customer back in maybe 1980 LOL

Looking at the picture of the gray cover shows that pin hole does go all the way through the cover so yes, I would say its a press fit pin. Use the rigth sized pin punch and knock it out.

Good luck switching those parts.

I got the 2nd S25CVA all back together and running. I couldn't richen up the H no matter how fat I went, so knew it had an air leak. It turned out to be the PTO side crank seal. It's blowing bubbles like crazy. Everything else is tight. Anyone know if this is a standard seal I can get locally? A PN would be great.

The saw has all new gaskets, except the carb/reed housing to crankcase, so I used sealant there. I widened the exhaust and rear transfers. There is no cylinder gasket, and squish is still greater than my .030" solder. The carb has a new kit. The points are cleaned. New fuel line and filter. Tank split, sand blasted and put back together with a new gasket. New duckbill valve in the tank cap. It's all good to go as soon as I source a crank seal.

Oh, BTW, compression is a surprising 188 PSI! I did flip end-over-end, and swap the rings from top to bottom. That's after burning the assembly lube out of it too. I'm shocked.

Very nice

Well here is one of them.

Mark, nice 5200. Those spikes look good. What type of steel did you use on your dogs?
I need a bucking spike for my 306A. You got any ideas on that? It'd be easier for me to find one than to build one now that I'm layed off from my yob...

Hey, WELCOME Tony. I bet you're gonna be busy on this site...:good:

Just 1/8" mild steel plate is what I use for them.

I have made my own 306/245 spikes but there a pita to make.
