A couple saws

A couple saws I have been working on. I fixed the 1800 for my wife and then found the S25DA. The 25 needed more work and time but turned out to be a nice saw. Now my wife has claimed the 25 I will probably sell the 1800 because I have some others. They are not as nice as this one. When I was working on the 25 I found something I had not seen on one before. I got the saw because it was stuck. It was also missing a few parts one of them being the switch. It turns out that what was left of the switch was behind the flywheel. The cylinder was also lose I thought the ear was going to be broke on the cylinder but it was not and it is together and running.
I going to try and post some pics and see if I can get this to work.

Yes the 8' bed will hold a few classic Poulans for sure. I'm not sure how many with the 5th wheel hitch in it though.

Thought I might drag the camper over this time so I don't have to leave so early.

Of course if I drink enough I might get to singing to Mikes playing then you will wish for sure I would have left early.:rockn:

You can always pack the camper full of saws too! :D
Mike got a workout at the last one, I think he played and sang till 1:00AM. LOL So, yes, you missed a good time by having to leave early. Personally, I'll leave the singing to the professionals, like Mike.:)
Gregg,

Did someone say GTG? I've got a couple examples to bring this time. I hope to make it and meet some more of you guys.

Yes Brad, we missed ya at the last one. Hope you and Andre can both make it this time. And of course Nik..LOL I'm sure he will be here again.
Looks like the weekend of May 15/16 is gonna be the time.
Gregg,

nice lil 25 hunter!

Gregg, thats a wonderful looking 306A.

Very nice.

The way you and I are going, we ought to go in together on a truckload of Tillitoson carb kits. Maybe we could get a better deal in bulk? :msp_laugh:

John you need to read that again, I said carb kits not carbs!!

Yes now with a stash of carbs on hand, more kits then ever. :hmm3grin2orange:

I know the feeling. I think between the HS and HL Tilly's I need about 15 kits.............maybe more.

Probably gonna deplete some stocks of RK-88HL, DG-5HL, and RK-23HS kits soon...:D

Sounds like your Wife has good taste in saws Hunter! That 1800 is in nice shape, but the 25 is a much better saw. Better color too...:msp_lol:

I've seen screws, springs, nuts, bits of bailing wire, and other misc. metal parts wedged behind flywheels before. Many times, the 'stowaways' weren't even parts from that machine. Usualy happens when the equipment is kept under a workbench. Guy drops a screw or some other part and makes a 'lucky' shot.........into the flywheel cover. The magnet(s) on the flywheel grab the sucker and it gets wedged under the coil or somewhere else where damage can be done...

Any suggestions for a cheap but good (yea, I know) 14" bar and chain for the resurected 2300CVA (3/8, 0.05)? It pushed a 16" factory bar and chain just fine and now I am wanting it to be as light and flexible as possible. i'm currently looking at carlton bars (hobby champ) and woodlandpro chains (skiptooth, 30SCS). anything come to mind that is a better value (price and performance)? Thanks, Vic

Another member gave this to me today, along with some saws..

Just did a tear down and some port work to my 2900 (pp295). Took some pics of the build quality of the saw a a couple of the port work. Do you guys want it in this thread or out on its own?

Mitch, sometimes its best to just start a new thread. If someone wants to do a search for it later, you would have a hard time digging it out of this runaway thread.

Maybe we should get a group deal going on a mess of kits. I know where to get them right if you get a bushel of them at a time. ......
