25

I know the feeling. I think between the HS and HL Tilly's I need about 15 kits.............maybe more.

Probably gonna deplete some stocks of RK-88HL, DG-5HL, and RK-23HS kits soon...:D

I know how you feel I have gone through three kits this week.

Sounds like your Wife has good taste in saws Hunter! That 1800 is in nice shape, but the 25 is a much better saw. Better color too...:msp_lol:

I will agree the 25 is a better saw. Yes she does have good taste in saws. I do not how I got lucky enough for her to agree to marry me. She does like the old green ones to.

I've seen screws, springs, nuts, bits of bailing wire, and other misc. metal parts wedged behind flywheels before. Many times, the 'stowaways' weren't even parts from that machine. Usualy happens when the equipment is kept under a workbench. Guy drops a screw or some other part and makes a 'lucky' shot.........into the flywheel cover. The magnet(s) on the flywheel grab the sucker and it gets wedged under the coil or somewhere else where damage can be done...

I know I have seen stuff in them but just never the switch. Like you said when they get stored away you do not know what you will find.

CV3400 ipl ?

In the saws i got today is a Cv3400,missing stuff like air filter and cover.
would like to see an IPL to find just what is missing to help me decide what to do with the saw.
anybody got a link or have the IPL to email ??

Any suggestions for a cheap but good (yea, I know) 14" bar and chain for the resurected 2300CVA (3/8, 0.05)? It pushed a 16" factory bar and chain just fine and now I am wanting it to be as light and flexible as possible. i'm currently looking at carlton bars (hobby champ) and woodlandpro chains (skiptooth, 30SCS). anything come to mind that is a better value (price and performance)? Thanks, Vic

Me personnaly, I went with an Oregon Pro 91 Bar, 140SPEA041, and a Oregon 91VXL052 chain, great combo as far as I'm concerned. So thats what I'd recommend.

The S25CVA that I thought was doomed to be a parts saw, now lives again. I bought a cylinder on eBay for $7.50, and got a piston from Mark. Thank you Mark. The top loop handle AV mount was trashed, so I made one work from a 200T. I'll be using one from a 200T for the bottom mount as well. Until then, I just used a bolt and some jam nuts.

I split the case on this one and replace all gaskets and seals, except for the oil pump. It needs a new diaphragm, so I didn't use the new gasket there yet. The oil and fuel lines are new.

I simply enlarged the front hole for the bolt to go through. I put a slot in the mount for the rear one.

Here's the temporary bottom mount.

I do need a few parts to finish this one up. Let me know what you've got. I'll be happy to pay what they're worth.

  1. Washer spring for choke
  2. Bar guides, both
  3. Chain adjuster
  4. One long starter bolt
  5. Rim, 9-spline, 3/8 picco
  6. Oil pump diaphragm

Mark, this is just the sort of thing that gets you into trouble...

got a AV model in the pile, finding it ,well ??
will put it on the list, have 32 saws i picked up today to sort thru, and one is a running 25cv.

I would think all of those parts would be the same off any 25.

Got a 25 here in the house, has a spur not a rim on it.
got a better clutch cover too :)
besides AV and spur have it all.
will have to dig for the AV model and see if it has a rim.
