parts

The S25CVA that I thought was doomed to be a parts saw, now lives again. I bought a cylinder on eBay for $7.50, and got a piston from Mark. Thank you Mark. The top loop handle AV mount was trashed, so I made one work from a 200T. I'll be using one from a 200T for the bottom mount as well. Until then, I just used a bolt and some jam nuts.

I split the case on this one and replace all gaskets and seals, except for the oil pump. It needs a new diaphragm, so I didn't use the new gasket there yet. The oil and fuel lines are new.

I simply enlarged the front hole for the bolt to go through. I put a slot in the mount for the rear one.

Here's the temporary bottom mount.

I do need a few parts to finish this one up. Let me know what you've got. I'll be happy to pay what they're worth.

  1. Washer spring for choke
  2. Bar guides, both
  3. Chain adjuster
  4. One long starter bolt
  5. Rim, 9-spline, 3/8 picco
  6. Oil pump diaphragm

Brad
I might have the parts if they can not find them. I will have to look tomorrow. Let me see if I can find two good bar guides. Most of ones I find are in bad shape but I try to save the good ones. I will let you know.

Exactly how many is in a peck?

Maybe we should get a group deal going on a mess of kits. I know where to get them right if you get a bushel of them at a time. ......

I'm down for that! I need about 10 RK-88HL kits now.

I'll take 1/4 peck!

Mike

We might need to look into this?

I would get in on some also :)

I'll have to do a count tomorrow to see just how many kits I'm gonna need. I know it's several DG-5HL or RK-88HL, several RK-23HS, three or four K10-SDC, a Wally HDC kit (can't remember the # ATM), a couple RK-14HU, and three or four K20-WAT kits. If we can get a 'group discount' that would be super.

Roncoinc hooked me up with everything I need except 1 guide plate. Let me know if you've got a spare. Thanks. This is bad guys. I'm thinking about painting one of these little XXVs, lol.

No Brad, this isn't bad!
You could be Jonesing over 200Ts.
They are about ten times the price and Poulan folks are a LOT less reluctant to send their stash of parts to someone else!!!

hey brad i might have a guide plate someplace. I'll have to look for it and see if i can find it and see which side it is and get back to you on the condition it's in.

Did I strike gold?

As some of you may have seen, I picked up a bunch of saws from a long time shop on Wednesday.

One of them is a Dayton 4Z252 powerhead that the recoil shows to have been equipped with a 24" bar. Since Dayton is distributed by W.W. Grainger, I called them for information on the saw. Unfortunately, it is too old to be listed in their books any longer. I pulled the muffler and the piston looks good but it will need fuel lines.

This saw look exactly like my 5200 and has a metal filter cover that has the side screws rather then the top screw like the 3400's and my 5200. Does anyone know how to tell what model this is without pulling the jug?

In addition, I got another saw that appears to be built on the same chassis but is probably a 4900 based on the recoil that was in the box of parts. Unfortunately, the rear handle is broken so it will take a new tank assembly as well as a carb to get it going.

I called the shop owner and he said that he got them at least 10 years ago and knows nothing about them but seemed excited I might be able to get at least one of them running.

Here are the new acquisitions posing with my 5200.

I don't know what it is about those bar plates, there always missing. I know I sent the last extras I had to you with that saw.

Did you find a diaphragm yet? I might be able to round up good used one anyway.

That Dayton is in fact a 5200. It is also only the second one that I have seen. Too bad you didn't get the original bar clamp for it.

Like you said the recoil with the other says 4900 so thats probably what it is.

Now do you believe me????/

I'm back to needing a pair if you've got them. Thanks.

Roncoinc is sending me a complete pump. I'll check the diphragm when it gets here.
