Yep, I can see that green coil on it. Mine were limited to about 10K, I dont care what it says on the saw.

If you think it runs good now, just wait till you change that coil out!

Glad you got it back John, I know you talked about it before like you missed it. Its a nice one. Hang on to it this time OK?

I'm not planning on it going anywhere. Only reason I ever let dad have it is that I knew I would get it back. Now if I could just get back the 5200's, 5400's and 8500's lol.

Carl, I'm pretty sure it was RH.

Got him off with the 'rounded nut' removers from Sears my kids gave me for Chirstmas two years ago. First time I used one. Slick.

Replaced the bar adj. screw while the fuel tank is soaking the 'goo' out. They look like a rope after thirty years of abuse. Now the recoil/fan housing is soaking in Simple Green.

This thing is soo....................much more entertainment than the PM610.

dawgs

well, drew up my templates tonight. I got the inside dawg completed and I must say it looks pretty good with a dry fit. I also started the outside dawg. That one is taking a little more creativity but should look cool when done. They will be made from 1/8'' using a plasma cutter. Does a 3700 really need custom dual spikes? Yes it does!:chainsawguy:

You cutting with a CAD machine ??
wouldnt wanna do that by hand !

Were waiting for the pictures Joe... :hmm3grin2orange:

Of the Packards, natch.

361's fuel tank is soaking in lacquer thinner tonight. Can not tell what that 'goo' is but it is not like dried out fuel. A dribble of it dried on my plastic funnel and it resembles spar varnish.

I guess that is why it is called fuel varnish.

Make sure you let the kids know how their gift saved the day. Kids (and Wives) really dig that stuff. Makes them feel 'validated' for choosing a gift in a realm (tools..............and anything else that the dad/husband is into) where they feel out of their element.

361 fuel pick up line.

How do you all go about reattaching the in tank pick up line?

I have no wrench or pliers in my larger than most collection of tools small enough or crooked enough to get the spigot out of the fuel tank. I figured out a way but want to know what the S.O.P. is.

Dang CAD...

Anyone have a burning desire to own a Poulan 3000? I have one that looks fairly nice and fires right up but, I don't see them mentioned much and don't have much need for this one.

Don't have a burning desire specificaly for a Poulan 3000. Do have CAD however, am getting more into Poulans, and a 3000 is a good saw. Have a pic or two? I think I need therapy...:msp_w00t:

There should be a 3 or 4 pics, you might have to go one way or the other. If there is anything specific you'd like to see, let me know.

I can't get the links to work correctly from my phone. I'll put up the links when I get home this evening.

4000 spark issue

Got home from Vermont and found a 4000 sitting in the garage. Pretty dirty but P & C are in great shape. However there is no spark. Checked switch with ohm meter and it works. Put three differant coils(one from a working saw) and still no spark. Tested w/o switch wire connected and still no spark. Is it possible the flywheel is bad? Never heard of a bad flywheel but I'm stumped. I did test it w/o rings on the cylinder as I was doing a squish test but it doesn't seem that this would be the cause. I may try to switch flywheels and recoil to test, but then I would have to remove starter pawls from the old flywheel in order to use the new flywheel with the 4000 pawls. Anyone removed them? They seem to be pressed in and wonder if I can drive them out.

How much? Wish I had known last week when I went to Spotsylvania to get this haul.

I had a chance to use my S25CVA this afternoon. It ran great until it got up to temp, and then started breaking up again in the cut. Does that sound like a bad condensor? If so, I'll be putting a nova module in this saw.
