Figgured out you have to loosen the oil cap on the Craftsman 1.8" after you run it. If you don't, it sits there and emptys its' oil tank for you.
Ok, I just figured this out myself the other day.
Can someone tell me why Poulan used a .325 x 9 sprocket on the 306SA?
Mike, your not allowed to get in on this one as I know you already know.
Was it to get the proper height for the autosharp to work correctly?
Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! :msp_thumbup:
Yes, when looking to replace the power sharp sharpening stone, I realized there was only one part # for it! I know the 245SA used 3/8's, the 245SA Dayton had .404 on it and the 306SA has .325 on it but they all used the same stone.
That means the .325 x 9 sprocket was needed to keep the radius right on the top of the chain to match the sharpening stone.
Now why they even used .325 on the 306SA is a question that I have no idea about.
I also wondered why Oregon always listed the 306SA on the list of saws there .325 pitch K041 bars fit when we know you cannot use the K041 mount on them at all.
I still don't know why....
Since I am the winner I will PM my address for the restored 5400 I won.

No but that coil has to go. Nice saw.
I thought about that but the saw says MAX RPM 13000 so I think that is plenty high for a stock saw. It's always ran great the way it is.
Where do I get an unlimmited coil and how much does it cost Mark? Although my tach said 12,300 a couple of times.
Your tach will bounce all over. Tough to get a solid reading off the limiter.
Husqvarna 50,51,55 61 268 I think, buch of them use the same coil.
Exactly and that is what originally messed up our 475's. Both had the H screw turned in to only about 1/4 turn out.
I'm pretty sure mine still has the factory stops on the carb screws so I know it's not that lean. I'll check into it a little more.
