I want this really bad but unfortunately have to pass on it. Sucks cause its only about 15 minutes or so up the road from me. I'm gonna pass it on to you guys who will appreciate it. If the seller will not ship I will be happy to grab it and ship it to you.

Very nice of you there Rick, If I didn't already have a bunch I would be all over it. That looks like a later version!

cool!

I typically use Dirko HT as a gasket maker but any fuel resistant sealant will work. Put a thin coat on both the cylider and saw case using my fingers. I remove rings by hand. I get a finger nail under one end and slightly lift it up and slide ring around and keep lifting. If you're careful and go slow its not hard at all. The bottom ring I ease up into the top ring groove and do the same thing.
Bob

i will have to try it again on one thats a lil whipped as practice! so does the 4000 have ummm free spining rings like the smaller poulans? if so what position do you load them in like 6 oclock and 12? how long does that sealent give you time wise to get it together? i may take a beater and practice for lack of a better term sliding it inthe cylinder as i fumbled with the last one i took apart .. god if i touch anything like tar chaulk etc i get it every where i may try it a few times and just clean it off ffast with carb cleaner....

Maybe they are Asexual???

I didn't know what that means so I googled it.

I guess I still don't now even after looking it up.

If something is A-Sexual it would have both male and female parts and could reproduce on its own. I remember this from back in the days of earth science in 9th grade...Single cell organisms and amoebas etc

*cracking up*

lmao soon as i saw it i was like hahah!!!! and then i went wait what the blank does that mean???? i was going to google it then read your post heck im going to google it and see if i can figure it out!

If that was the case then I'm A sexual...I have a G/F and want no part of it. Maybe that's part of my depression lol. Defiantly time for a change

I'm leaving the cross-breeding and 'asexual' stuff alone here. Not gonna touch it...

Yeah it is too bad, you would like one. They can get along with Homelites just fine, you can leave them alone together and everything. :msp_rolleyes:

No problem at all leaving Poulans and Homelites together. Heck.........they've each been sold with both red and green paint several times over the last 50 years or so...

Well for the sake of harmony and world piece, I won't say what I'm thinking right now. :msp_unsure:

+1:D

Yet more Craftsman 3.7 questions...

Talking with a member here about a 3.7 he picked up. Got a couple of questions for you fellows.

Were any of the 3800's ever sold as red Craftsman 3.7's, or were all of the red saws 3700's? I'm looking for a red 3.7, and only want a 3700 (instead of a 3800) as I don't dig 'bare' cylinders and cromed pistons.

Other than the chromed piston/bare cylinder deal in the 3800's (and the possibility of a Zama C3 instead of a Walbro HDB carb), are there any other substantial differences between 3700's and 3800's? Was there more plastic (such as the rear handle piece, starter housing, or clutch cover) used in the construction of the 3800? Is there an easy visual way to tell a 3700 from a 3800 (other than the chromed piston) when looking at a rebadged saw such as a Craftsman 3.7?

Funny how the internet works. You mention that you're looking for something in the right place, and it falls in your lap. Got a couple Homelite E-Z/Super E-Z leads for the same reason. That's more understandable, as it's mentioned in my siggy...:D
