The metering lever is fixed to the plate Stub, don't try to pull it off, you'll be F****d.

lol

yea thats the story of me dave lmao! i pulled on it lightly then i took both screws out and it popped up wow the screen was caked with crud...fuel lines are easy enuff!!! uggg i swaer i need 2 of everything i usually break bend drop lose stomp etc whenever ive never done one before oh well its not like it will be a work saw so dave are the full rebuild kits available on these? if so ya think local shops will have them?i need to learn if its somthing new to ask first LOL! all the carbs ive done have been zama and walbro for small saws and trimmers i have them down this carb is new to me so under that plate thats a gasket also right do you replace it all? while im waiting i will see if i can find a kit online *cracking up!

oh wow!

wow went to sears site looks like they dont have these parts any more LMAO! i will try bailys then check out ebay no matter what it needs a kit. so is there a carb that replaces the walbro hdb 8 c it also has 21-245-4-1 somthing newer that a local shop would have in stock?

found it!

they have the parts at bailys so whats the kwick kit for 21 bucks? does that have new springs and a meter valve? the basic kit is like 4 bucks plus like 895 i should add somthin to the order to feel better about shipping *L*

like i said!

like i said LMAO! if i can break it!!!! LOL of course i can usually put it back together if i find the parts LOL! so any ways i got the 3.7 to run ok ....it still needs a carb kit to be more crisp... but ummm heheh. any one have the different pics of what the clutch parts look like?as i was adjusting the carb and reving it hard one time i see these things go flying off my table into about 40 feet of mulch i will post what i found and maybe some one has a pic of what else i need i think it was 3 pie like pieces heheh....View attachment 172942 i remember some one one here saying he always leaves the clutch cover on these days guess im not the only one this happens to!!!!

Paul its not cost effective to ship a carb kit that way.

The kit you want is a K10-HDB for the full kit and the diaphragm kit only is D10-HDB. Sounds like you only need the diaphragm kit.

thank you!

Too bad you cannot buy some brains at HF as well. I would be off to get some myself. I have dent in the ceiling of my shop from a clutch shoe and almost hit the hood of my truck with it as well.

Then to make matters worse I spun one off with a impact and sent the shoes flying again. :hmm3grin2orange:

Not surprising that you got a good saw from Bill, not surprising you got a gruff reply from him with that comment as well. LOL

He's a good dude though!

Go leave him some good feedback.

Poulan 4000

Well got my 4000 going. Went gasketless and compression jumped to 150 cold. I did reverse and flip rings. Used my phone to take pictures and thought they'd show up on Picasa but no luck. Intersetingly the decal collors are a little differant and I noticed the top cover said type 11, built in Shreveport by Poulan/Weedeater a division of White Consolidated. I believe that puts it after 1986. Will post pictures tomorrow.

I typically use Dirko HT as a gasket maker but any fuel resistant sealant will work. Put a thin coat on both the cylider and saw case using my fingers. I remove rings by hand. I get a finger nail under one end and slightly lift it up and slide ring around and keep lifting. If you're careful and go slow its not hard at all. The bottom ring I ease up into the top ring groove and do the same thing.
