The final piece!

I finished my custom Farm Pro 3.7. Of course that saw doesnt exist. So I made it. I had the MM muffler on my 4000 but since the 4000 already has a decsent flowing muffler I put it on the 3.7. Next I found the elusive 4000 intake. So here it is. This is my favorite saw to use.

Looking good Joe! I'm gonna go look at a couple of unknown old red "Craftsman/Pullin" saws with 18" bars soon. Still going back and forth with the seller, trying to get contact info from him. I'd have gone to go look at them tonight if he wasn't so dense. Made the mistake of asking him what the model # was (and for pics). He answered back (a couple of hours later.......and with obvious 'texting speak') telling me he couldn't "find" the pics, and asked me where the "serial number" was on these saws. I had told him that I wanted to see the saws tonight, even if he didn't know what the model # was. Too much for his little brain I guess.... Probably will end up being Roper 3.7's............:jester:

Because of those possible saws (money's tight), I held off on bidding beyond a certain point on a nice looking Poulan 3700/Craftsman 3.7 on feebay today. Wonder if somebody here got it.....:D

Well guys,

I thought I was going to have a video of an old fat guy running a Poulan Pro 415 to post here but it is telling me that it will take another 72 minutes to upload so I guess it will have to wait 'til tomorrow night.

Nice Joe, like the 4000 AC cover.. Oh and the paint is mint on that saw.

Thanks Aaron, Rick and Dave.
The paint is original, this one had a case so that saved it Im sure. If you guys havent seen it I also have an almost new 3.7 with less than 10 tanks thru it. Original case, manuals, scrench. You can even see the writing on the bar. I did drop a few trees with it and obviously it cut awesome, but at that time it was my only "big'' Poulan. Now I just take it out rev it and appreciate how cool it is. Thats the good thing about having 2 of the same saw. Ohh and I traded an eager beaver for it.:msp_w00t:

Picked up a nice S25DA from ebay a few days ago, it's the older round top handle, looks to be in really good shape.

You know Joe a guy by me was selling a really nice red 3.7 Craftsman on ebay a while back, he started at $150 then $125, then $99, at $99 I was going to buy it but he would not remove the $30 shipping fee even though I wanted to pick it up, he was only 35 miles away.

Thats weird. He was definately trying for the extra $$ cause I know those ship for less than $35. Maybe he was hiding something too?

Hey Guys I posted these pics in a thread I started "name this saw" and got it narrowed down to several answers but seems to be poulan/craftsman and figured one or all of you could tell me exactly what it is?

Anyone have any reasonable suggestions to finding a replacement adjusting pin for my 361? The bolt and locking nut are COTS, so no issue there. Looking at this one, it is beefier than the standard adjusting pin which looks like it was just a stamped part. Or is that fine? They seem to have a lot of slop in them, but maybe no big deal.

You had an elusive Eager Beaver in your possession and you let it go? :dizzy:

Did you have vendetta against the guy to pull that move with a clear conscience? :hmm3grin2orange:

Its a Craftsman made by Poulan. Either 3.4 or 3.7. (56cc or 61cc). Model number will tell you which it is. Model 358.358850 is a 3.4, 56cc saw. I don't have the model # butbecause they didn't make a 4.0 if the number doesn't match it would have to be a 3.7. They did make some 3.8 saws but they weren't red.

Like Bob, (redunshee) said, its definitely a Poulan. The trick is to determine wich one, 3.4 or 3.7. If you look at a post or two ahead of yours, you will see a pic of a couple real nice 3.7's.

I'm not UP on the Craftsman model numbering system. A pretty sur way to tell is pull the muffler. The 3.4 version will most likely have a chromed piston with unplated cyl. The 3.7 will likely be just the opposite. with a slightly larger exhaust port. Most of those saws had decals on them. 3.4/16 or 3.7/18

Parts are interchangable with all of them, and with the Poulan versions.

Gregg,

Gregg,

Agree with Gregg. If no model # pull the muffler. Also, though if you read this site often there are exceptions, many 3.7 Craftsman had thin rings.

The saw looks orange in the pictures. If it is then it is a Dayton colored 3400.
