Listen Andy, I dont need you playing father for me. You need to let Brad fend for himself sometimes. I know thats tough when its a good friend and all but you really need to.

As for my week? Thanks for asking, but its been very good so far. Got paid today and had 15 hrs overtime on the check, done the ole lady 3 out of 6 days as well. Also got all the hard to find parts for the big Partners and Melvyn called and said those Poulan parts we ordered 3 weeks ago all came in!

Good to hear all is going well.

Wasn't trying to play father, or simply standing up for a friend. I simply don't like name calling period. I think you need to step back and cool off, why should anyone have to fend for themselves, there is no war here.

I want to read the Poulan Thread. I'd love to have it as a Sticky but Its not the end of the world, if I have to do a little scrolling. I've gotten a lot of info from all parties concerned and feel this issue has become too personal. Lets get back to information and help, like Joe's fantastic 4000 with Chainbrake! Also is there a differance between the PP 335 and the Predator P335? Love, peace and a sharp chain.:msp_razz:

Guys, I've tried to stay silent as long as I can. I've got two friends going at it and it's not comfortable at all. So, here goes;
1. It was awesome when this thread was a sticky. My posting here is sporadic, but my reading is not.
2. I voted that I liked the stickys and still wish it would go back to that way.
3. The large majority that voted, did vote in favor of less sticky's.
4. Brad did whine and start a thread about stickys. After he was attacked he certainley gave it right back.
5. Wampum cleared the air and told everyone HE decided to unsticky the threads.
6. (this one hurts to say, but it's true IMHO) Mark acted out when the thread lost it sticky status. I'm appalled with his personal attacks, particularly when he brought it into this thread. Over the last few days I read numerous posts that made me think; boy he's sure showing his ass. This is not the behavior of the man we all know and look up to. I think you owe Brad an appology.
7. IMHO Edisto is trolling in this thread. No way your timing is coincidental. Your question about collectable Poulans is a thinly veiled guise. However, since I love these saws, any of the 3400-4000, 4200-5400, or 6900-8500 are awesome, the bigger the number in the seiries, the more cc the saw. There are larger displacement newer Poulans but they aren't "true" Poulans.
8. There is a way, I think, we can make this a sticky again. I don't know how but I'll pm a mod and find out.
9. This is all I have to say on this matter.

At the risk of sounding very corny. On May of 2009, when Nik made the Poulan forum a "Sticky", was one of the great days in history! If it wasn't for the Poulan Thread, I doubt I would still be here. I have been a member of numerous sites over the years, other than chainsaws, but never lasted more than a month, at best. But, this was different. So many helpful, friendly, knowledgeable people, many of which I have had the privilege to meet personally.

I rarely post out of this thread. And the chaos, clutter, brand bashing, and mindless posts of rep seekers, self proclaimed know it alls, that I think just like to see there name in lights fill the open forum. It was and is a pleasure and a refuge, if you will, to get to the Poulan Thread, where things were somewhat normal.;)

I, like some of us madder than wet hens!! Was coughing, gagging up a big "lunger" when the Poulan thread got unstickied, and was ready to let fly...but decide to swallow it instead. GULP,:msp_sad: This is a tough one for most of us. Because we know and like, and consider all party's involved to be good friends. Time will heal most wounds, and I'm sure this will soon heal too. At least I hope it does.

At some point in the near future I think we need to have a GTG, drink a few High Lifes/Mountain Dews, whatever, and discuss, run, and enjoy the best dam chainsaws ever made, in my opinion.

Gregg,

I knew when I posted that would be the impression, but I'm not grown up enough to have just waited a few days. The thread was being trolled when I arrived. Ironically, the whim arose because the thread was at the top of the page. More ironically, it was at the top because Brad was busy rubbing some noses in it. I reacted because I found Brad's trolling a classless thing to do (more irony? You decide). I reacted the same way I always do. It's an unfortunate aspect of my nature. I even knew that posting my question would be futile, so at some level, you are right about me trolling, but my timing absolutely was coincidental.

I do appreciate the suggestions, but my recent tastes fall into the older and heavier category. As examples, most recent acquisitions include a Clinton D41, a Mall 2MG, a Homelite 600D, and a Mac 380.

Running my 076 with a 42" bar on a blowdown that needed a 42" bar is where I got the bug.

At first blush, something along the lines of a 66 would fit the bill, but at this point, availability is going to be the big issue.

Still a " sticky" to me.

At the risk of revealing just how lazy I am ,. my latest 4000 pickup leaks bar oil & a lot of it , without taking her apart any common issues to look for? ie:like the fuel lines degrading from age.

take the clutch and the oil pump cover off. Make sure you're not leaking between the pump and the crank case. If you are, you've got a bigger problem than just a dirty floor. The oiler runs on crank impulse so if it's not sealed. you have an airleak.

About these old Poulans. :)

I got this saw from one of our members. It seems to run fine, but I need some parts. Does anyone have the missing parts here???

Gregg,

This was a very good post Gregg! One of the best IMO.

I am upset with the poulan sticky being moved myself but what is a guy to do. I do not post in it every day like some of ya but I do lurk in it and have a love for the green saws that will never die til the day I do and even then I don't think it will because I have 2 boys that are starting like I did as a child 30 years ago. Bradley ask me at least once a week when the Poulan lovers GTG is and I keep telling him soon but I don't know how much longer I can tell him that with him thinking the old man is not a liar lol.

I'm not taking sides by any means but it is true that they have a modded worksaw section here for guys to post in and MOST never do so when we get on AS we have to scroll past all of the look at my latest work threads which gunks up the 1st page like the stickies do so what is the difference. To me it's just free advertisement for some.

At least we talk POULAN questions and info where we're meant to. We all could just open a new thread everytime we want to talk POULAN and gunk up the 1st page so it takes even longer to find a modded saw thread lol.

I know I sound bias but really I'm not it's just my opinion not that any of you care lol.
