Nik's Poulan Thread

Well, I go away for a few days and look what happens - someone loses the Poulan thread. At first I thought it was all the pain killers they gave me but nope it looks like the glue has come unstickied on this thread.

What happened? Have we been naughty?

Well its like this, some dillrod from Cincy went whining about the stickys and how much work it was to scroll past them on his phone. Seems there might have been some begging to the mods and presto no more Poulan or other brand stickies on the first page but several others were alright to leave stuck. :help:

So now instead of just chosing the last page of the Poulan thread on my phone or PC , I have to search and load 3 different pages to get there now. Its a real pain on the cell phone now and I wont even bother with it anymore.

Anyway glad to see you Al, whats new. The 4900 up and going yet?

Joe, I went out and looked mine over this morning. The 3 Poulan Pro models that I have, all have a sticker on them, to the right of the rear handles. My PP S25DA has a date of 1996 I'm assuming. My PP Super 380 has a date of 1997. My PP FP375 has a date of 2001 by the looks of it. Unless I'm way off base. I suppose it could be a 1991 instead of 2001. Its just a single digit.

I looked also at the number molded into the under side of the air cleaners, in the circle. The one on my 375 has an 88. The one on my green & black 4000 has a 85. The one on my green 4000 has a 83. LOL Where is that guy that worked on the Poulan assembly line when ya need him.

You might be right Gregg. Ill have to look at my PP335s to see if they still have the sticker. I think the one I finished a month ago is an '88. I know my Craftsman/Poulans have that sticker. Seems to me the Poulan thread is on the front page everytime I look. You're simply having to scroll down past the top of the page, same as everyone else has always had to do to get to non-stocky threads. That doesn't take one additional click. I'm still amazed you've resorted to such behaviour over something so simple! Additionally, I had no conversations of any kind with a single mod. Get over it already and quit whining!

I'm not even responsible for deleting the stickies. But none of that is the heart of the matter. The real issue here is how some of you are willing to attack another person to defend something as insignificant as a sticky in a web forum. Now, just thing about that for a second!

I finally take the plunge and start reading the Poulan thread.

I should be working on the saws I haven't fixed, but I thought I'd "shop" and see what I should be keeping an eye out for, because my collection is Poulan-free.

What do I find? Brad adding insult to injury by taking a crap in this thread.

So this is your thread now? What an ego! Last I checked, you didn't even start it. You think you can crap on me and nothing will be said back? You think you can lie about what happened and just go on your merry way? You thought wrong Mark. You're so mad you can't even see the truth. You earned a lot of respect around here, especially with the Poulan community. I've benefitted myself. Bottom line though, I can do without every piece of knowledge you have, before I'll just swallow the slander you've spewed out here the last couple of days. It's simply uncalled for and unwarranted. You see Mark, there's more to AS than just the Poulan thread. Perhaps you should get out more often. And don't take that wrong all you Poulan lovers, I have a few myself

Brad, I have been around here long enough to tell that you are a knee jerk type of guy, you would be the kind of man to jump off a cliff and on the way down think, man I have screwed up, never consider the consequences. This is just another one of the messes you have created/contributed to or caused and we (as bystanders) have to live with the results.

It might do you well to think ahead and of others sometimes. You'd stay out of a lot more trouble.

As someone who is completely ignorant about the brand, what should I be keeping an eye out for in the 5 cube and up range?

Common is better than "awesome" because I'm cheap, I'm broke, and want to be able to find parts.

The heavier, the better...I want it to fit in with my Mac 380, Homelite 600D, Stihl 076, and Mall 2MG.

That's just the thing. I did nothing! I voiced a concern many others had, I made a suggesting, a mod read it and acted. The problem is 100% that a couple of you are mad as old wet hens and can't even see straight now.
