New one on me

There is currently a Craftsman 3.4 (Poulan 3400) listed on Craigslist with a 16" bow. The pictures are small, but it is painted gray and does not show green under it where the paint is rubbed off. Could you ever get a bow on a Sears sold 3400?

Decent looking saw, but it is not worth the $225 he is asking to me.

Anyone ordered from CM Small Engines?

I ordered a starter pawl spring, on Aug 16th, and still haven't received it. Anyone ever have any problems with them?

Welcome to the club...so to speak.and to one that has seen the light!:D Most all of my saws are old Poulans. The 245A would have to rank in my top three favorites without a doubt. The 4000, 5200, & 245A being them top 3.
Here is an old video of mine with a 24" bar. Most here have seen it, but what the heck. I never tire of seeing or hearing old Poulans .;)

Gregg,

Great video Gregg, looks good with a 24" on it. Just starting my collection now, got to get some pics of my 245 up.

It's not his fault the other guys didn't bring enough saw!!!
Kinda like bringing a knife to a gunfight.LOL

Welcome to our humble thread Snyper438!
Make yourself at home.

That's about they felt after the first couple trees, lol. They started trimming limbs off and leaving most of the big stuff for me, not that i minded.

Thanks Mike.

Poulan 2055 dies

I have a Poulan 2055. It idles fine but when I puill the trigger a little too much it dies. If I pull the trigger a little bit the RPM goes up a little but if a pull the trigger a little more it dies. If it warms up and I pump the trigger enough it will run full blast OK. I took apart the carburator but it all looks clean. The plastic diaphram inside the carburator looks a little warped (it is not completely flat) but I assume this is normal and not the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

foam carb gasket

Hi, I was putting my 306A back together and noticed that the dust gasket that goes between the engine and the tank/handle assembly was nearly gone. It looks like a quarter inch piece of foam or something I was wondering what I could use to cut that gasket out of. It might have to be high temp safe and is thicker than head gasket material. I wanted to use something other than RTV silicone, but dont know what won't melt.
Thanks, Nick/

Diaphragms for both sides should be soft and pliable. I'd rebuild the carb and see how it runs.

I've seen just the bow go for $100 and the one in the picture looks in excellent shape.

So I got a 306a today, runs good. I know, I know, I'll get some pics when I find the damn camera.

My problem is, the saw sits crooked. There's a piece gone out of the bottom of the clutch cover, is there a foot missing, or a kick stand or what?

I also need the outer shell of the muffler, I don't suppose I can buy one of those new??

I likes me these old green saws...

A carb kit should revive it. New diaphrams, gaskets at least. Cleaning out the passages with carb cleaner while wearing a pair of safety glasses should also be done.
