Calvin, consider those 2638 rings gone! Do you have any 23253 pistons, 32015 needles or 32002 bearings?

I'll try to look some more of those numbers up and call you here in a little while and get those points anyway.

Sent you PM re 3700 decals. Soon as you find S25DA pump diaphragm let me know.

Bob

Mark, That seems to be the biggest hurdle, getting the size right. I have a new set for a 3400 that I was thinking of scanning. That might give me the proper size as a starting point. Havn't tried that yet. Your right, I'm sure there are guys out there that do this profesionally. Just thought I might try it, something cheap! LOL

Was just browsing the bay, and saw the 3400 decals again. They also had a New piston & rings for a 3700. $79.00 Yikes!!

Gregg,

Yes scanning them would probably help, maybe you could change the numbers around some on there and make a 3400 into a 3700 or such?

I don't know, as its out of my realm of experiance.

i wish when you scan them what resolution to scan them too etc/

wish someone knew that answer

Well I would say to scan them at full size for sure and thats about all I know about that.

I do know that the 2577-piston rings fit a Poulan 361 or 306 saw and the 3994-coil fit a ton of the older Poulan saws like the 30,40,50,60, 70, 80 and 90 series saws.

Thats all I have found so far.

Cylinder compairson

I have a craftsman Poulan that has a bad cylinder. They list it as part # 530071884 Poulan pp4218av. I am wondering what the difference is in the 530071885 pp4218avx. And whitch one is best and will it fit the av model.
Thanks Dale

Off hand I don't know what the difference is. Did you get prices on a cyl, piston seals etc?

Are you sure its worth it when you can buy new or refurb saws all day long for $125?

If you buy a new one you get everything new, motor, carb, bar and chain etc. You could use your old one for parts if you ever need them that way.

Just a thought

Isn't the AVX designation for the tool-less chain adjuster???

Mike

I don't need the saw I have others to cut with this is new except a piece of metal went in exchange port and ruined it. Though I might sell it Those cylinder kits are only $39.00 and $45.00's probably sell for $80.00. I think that is on both it's on this one. Poulan web site list them different but when you do compare there's no difference.
Thanks Dale

S25DA fuel lines

OK, Mark or Joe, I need your help!

I started working on another S25DA, very nice one it seems. But, needs all fuel lines & filter. There is none on it now. I know Mark had a thread on replacing fuel lines on these awhile back, but I have searched to high heaven, and can't find it.
I'm gonna need the vent in cap link too...LOL:dizzy:

I read all these posts before, but didn't have one of these at the time, so the info kinda went in one ear and out the other, so to speak.

These little 25's are a new animal to me.

Thanks for any advice or tips.

Gregg,

Cheese and Rice, I got to do everything around here?
:hmm3grin2orange:

Here is the fuel line link, I had to search for it myself. http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=91227&highlight=S25CVA

The fuel cap vent is in this thread itself somewhere.

I'll look for it later, I gotta go finish painting this 245A. Pics to follow.

Thanks Mike you beat me to it.

Its not as bad as it looks! Mark can explain better than me but Ill try. First, I take off the old line and measure it, that way you can cut the exact amount for the new line. Second, pull the recoil. Third pull the flywheel. I use a method that is probaly not the best but works. I loosen the nut to the end of the shaft, then hit it with pbblaster, tap with a soft hammer (not the magnet side) then use 2 big screwdrivers to pop it loose. Now I start in the carb box and feed the line down thru the 2 holes (you only see 1) then I grab it with a forcep. next fish it thru the little bracket that goes over the flywheel. next I cut it at an angle and push it thru the tank hole. I oil it up so it goes easier. next, I get grab the line thru the fuel cap. Pull it thru, make sure you have enough for the carb. Next put your filter on. Done.

Here you can see the little hoop the line is supposed to go thru. i didnt know until Mark told me after it was done.

Thanks Joe!!
Between your help and Marks tutorial, this old farmer should be able to get it accomplished. :) I hope. Guess I'll just run to town to a auto parts store and get the stuff, instead of ordering it online.

Thanks again fellas!!!
