Greg, just tell them that you want 1970 mopar sublime green. Like I said it was $18 for a half pint. The reducer and hardner is what makes it expensive, but you dont need much of either maybe you cousin has some there you could get. You only need just a drop of both.

Pay attention now, this is the color Poulans are supposed to be!

( I couldnt resist! )

Did someone mention mopar???

Gregg,

Ha Ha, I'll hold you to it. I guess if you get a red Craftsman or a orange Dayton you don't have to do them green.

I wish my 361 was as green as the new guys. Its the older lighter green and faded to death!

I think I'll leave that old warhorse alone though.

We've had the beautiful green ones and will have some more when you finish painting it!!!(hint hint)
But you have to admit that MM Poulan is BEAUTIFUL!!!
True cover girl material if I ever saw (pun intended) it.

Yes it is I'll give you that.

Oh and BTW, I finally got the tank cover on the Dayton fixed for good today.

Used another new gasket and cut out a piece of cork the same thickness for a gasket under the center screw support.

Sealed up tighter then a drum now! Started it up and still no leaks and sounds wonderfull. One of my favorite saws it is.

Good looking saw Gregg. Did you use a rattle can or two part paint. I just repainted a Skil 1641 using a rattle can and baked it in an oven for 30 min. However I have doubts about how it will hold up. Seems to chip pretty easily.

Seems like not too many people are fond of these series of Poulans, but I happen to love mine!
First thing I wood do is get rid of that clutch cover and tensioner (weak spot) and get a cover with the 2 bar nuts! P/N # 530058933 will get you a cover and tensioner for about $6 bux.Don't forget to get the 2 bar nuts, P/N # 530015917 (x2) about $0.50 ea. If your a bit more inclined, you can do a muffler mod (really wakes up this saw) and a carb mod (so you can tune with a regular screwdriver). I ran an 18" bar on it and it did ok, I switched to a 16" bar and that new Oregon 91vxl chain and ended up with a nice, cheap strato-screamer for about $120cdn!

No, Bob its just rattle can equipment paint from TSC. They have it in quarts also, and hardner to mix, but that was gonna cost too much for no more than I would use of it. Now, if they had a green, that was a close match to Poulan....that I would have bought! I think John Deere green, is as close as they have. :dizzy: Ain't know way, I'm painting anything that color! LOL
