I had a good hour or so cutting today. I just cut up some blow downs so I had trail access to get back with the wagon so I can haul them away this spring. Only had a couple cuts that really needed the 4000, but the smaller saw worked pretty well. One thing I noticed was a full wrap handlebar and an outer bucking dog would come in real handy on that 4000. I found a part number for a full wrap, but haven't found any vendors that had/could get one. Does anybody have one available? I guess I could even make one if somebody would loan me one so I can make a pattern.

I don't have a lot of references on here yet as a buyer/seller, but the few I have dealt with can vouch for my integrity if needed.

No cutting wood today, no working on saws today. Spent some time working on this metal lathe cleaning it up and such so I can but the new parts on it and get it back together.

I got a few things I want to make with it already.. :msp_thumbup:

Might cut wood next weekend.

Big tree #1

It was a fun day. We have around 6 trees 24"+ to cut down around my dads house. This was # 1. lol. Dad likes to cut a tree then work it up. I like to cut everything down and make it look like a disaster area. It's how I roll.

The last one is my little Brother, my oldest son (8), and my Dad sitting on one of the smaller limbs. The "loggers". :smile2:

PS. How the Heck do I get the freaking pics to show up on here.

So we cut a lot of wood today, I brought a bunch of saws including my 3.7 and my 2101xp with 28" and new 3/8" chain. And we needed it, the trunk on one tree was 30''. Well, the husky refused to start. I didnt feel like fighting it so, I said, Ill see how the 3.7 pulls it since the husky mount works on the Poulan (not perfect). Mounted it on and started the cut. This saw pulled it no problem. Was it super fast no, but it was surprisingly fast for a 27yo 61cc saw and it never stalled I even lifted on it hard to see if it would and it just dug in. This wasnt pine or pulp wood either, I had it in that big maple. Whe I cut all the big stuff up I put the 20" on it and it really felt like a hot rod!

One things for sure Joe!

You won't outrun the oiler on that 3.700!LOL
Looks like fun.
Wish I could have been there to help instead of wasting ANOTHER Saturday .....11.5 hours at work!

I hate working on my days off. It'll feel better when the paycheck comes though Mike.

I'm beginning to get pretty tired of this.
We've only had one Saturday off since CHRISTmas and they say that there's no relief in sight.
I sure as hell hope the economy doesn't improve any. :dizzy:

I had a long run of overtime like that a few years ago. It got cut off suddenly, and we took a pay cut at the same time. The combined 'hit' really kicked us in the crotch. Been on the edge between red and black ever since......:msp_thumbdn:

I also went and cut some wood today, the top of a large yellow pine just laying there begging to be cut up. The hour got late so I had to hurry and the 4900 stayed in the tahoe where it was warm and dry. Did end up filling the trailer but no pics as my phone went dead, hopeing to get the 8500 tuned just right for its turn in the woods, I will make sure the phone is charged for that one as there is about 40 feet of trunk still standing in the air.

Hey all,

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who answered my questions pertaining to my 3500 and gave me advice on fixing, adjusting the carb and locating info on a air filter. I appreciate the responses and the knowledge. It helped immensely. Thank you all. Now my saw runs like a champ, spent 1.5 hours sawing through a beech tree 24" in diameter it went through it like a hot knife through butter. I have two more questions though lol. I was wondering if there was a difference between a poulan 3750 and a 3500 I found a 3750 for 100 dollars and I am going to get it. It has a 28 bar says it runs good but will definitely run it before I buy it. Can I change it to a 20" bar or leave the 28" on. If my next question has been answered elsewhere I apologize in advance for my question. What chain would you reccomend I use a chisel, semi chisel or the reduced kickback chain I guess that would be the oe chain for my 3500. Thanks alot

William

I'm not personally familiar with the 3500, but the 3750 is the same as a Poulan Pro super 380. I do have one of those. While it MIGHT be capable of running a 28" bar, that sounds like a stretch to me. I would use a 20" 3/8 .50 ga. chisel chain & bar myself.

Here is a PP 20" bar on ebay. Maybe a little pricey, but would be my recemendation for that saw.

Sounds like me, every time the economy tanks EVERYONE wants their damn machines repaired while they're down. So I'm busier than a 1 legged man at an ass kickin' contest with that and being a nurse. 7 days a week it's been all winter. Off days are spent cutting wood or relaxing with the wife and pups.

Gregg,

Pricey? No not really, bars have went up alot, besides thats a Power Match bar in K041 mount that you cannot buy new today. You can only buy the laminate bars in that mount in 3/8s with that 70DL count.

You guys are on notice, if one of youse dont grab it by tonight, I will.
