There does seem to be more than a little of the fee recovery going on. Really have to watch what you are bidding on, and like before, figure it in. If I were a seller, I would try to watch that, as it would seem to me you are opening an avenue to lower feedback for reasonable shipping.

Best thing to do is to keep looking around for what you want at the total price you want rather than buying it and complaining about the high price or the high shipping. If nobody buys the overpriced stuff eventually they will lower their price or eat it.

Sometimes we don't have that option. There just plain ARE too many idiots that will pay the inflated shipping prices (either by accident when they bid without checking the shipping........or by decission) for us to 'affect change' in the way you suggest. It's like the inflated prices that "muscle saws" are being listed (and sold) for. There's always enough big spender types around who will pay the stupid prices for the old mag. People that are looking for a 'benchmark' to guide them in pricing their items look at completed listings. They see what the last dozen schmucks paid for an item, and price theirs accordingly. Will it hit a threshhold and find an equalibrium? Possibly. My guess is that it'll take too long, and the damage will be done already.

For people in a hurry, you are correct. In my case, I'm usually in no hurry for the parts and can afford to wait for a reasonable price+reasonable shipping. I waited several weeks for a DeWalt 14.4 volt drill battery but finally found a new one reasonably priced. It's usually a matter of time. Considering what you wrote about big spenders, I noticed them when looking at the PM 610 saws. Luckily I managed to get on the good side of the selling frenzy because I had several I wanted to sell and got pretty good money for them. You never know on ebay, you know...

Something else, ebay I doubt cares how much people charge for shipping as long as the buyers don't make too much noise, now that they're charging "final value fees on shipping". The put that in there supposedly to keep shipping costs down but in reality they put them in so they could get their cut. Some people were told to raise their shipping prices tp make up for the fees on shipping.

I have a Poulan 3450 that I am looking for a 18" bar 3/8 pitch .050 0r .058 gauge. I have looked all over and have not found one. Does any body make an 18" bar for the 3450 or am I missing something like compatibility with other saws.

Ahh, your too late. I have not been feeling well but did make it to the shop for awhile. Worked not on saws but the table for my lathe. I didnt think about the seals and I'm in, showered and done for the day. :msp_biggrin: Going to be a early bedtime as well. I'll try to get a look this week though.

I'm with you, no stinking Maples for me either...

Nothing wrong with sugar maples.

Nobody makes that mount which is K041 in 3/8 in a 18" or 16". You can order a 180RNBK041 from bailey's and they will switch the nose out to 3/8 for you at no charge. You will need a 64DL chain to fit the saw now. I did it on one of my PP330.

I have one exactly like that. The model # is on the rear handle area on the back. I'll try and get out to see what model it is.

Looks like a 2900, 46cc. Would need more pictures to tell for sure.

It says only 46cc and some other numbers on that area.

Just wanna show off this little saw I've owned for several years. It's small, but what a powerhouse. It runs good, but it stays on the shelf lately cause I don't want to kill it.

Those saws are all right for what they were built for, occasional use trimming and non-professional cutting. I have a 2375 which I like pretty well and will use it for the occasional limbs that fall in the yard or cutting smaller trees.

Well folks, I'm kinda screwed...

I'm gonna be sending off my Poulan 3300 (yep, verified... 46mm piston) to Stumpy to get Stumpbroke...

He's gonna get to play with it, porting, pop up, and all.

I won't get it back until I can either fork out the money for the work, or until I've got saws to trade to him... but that's okay... I want it completely broken in by the time I get it...

I've got a Craftsman just like it, it's 60cc though, if I remember right... so in other words, a Poulan 3600...

That one I'm gonna tweak... it looks brand new on the outside and inside. What a good looking gray and black saw...

I hear ganggreen is very, very strong and has claimed many a man's soul...

It can be hard on you. I have a strong S25 that I've been thinking about having Stumpbroke. I just want an all out MS200 killer. I know what you guys are thinking, spending $$$$ on a $50 saw, but it will still be cheaper than a 200. I think you need to run a few of the bigger old green saws, say, start with a 4000, then a 5200, then move on to a 525, and then a 655.

300 bucks into a 50 buck saw?

Heck, I got the 3300 for free. Needs some tlc like the piston and cylinder cleaned up a little, and a new ring, as well as intake boot, etc.

Figure since it needs all that work, I don't really want to do it, and I want it to have a pop up and other cool stuff to make a 54cc creamsickle eater... which I don't have the stuff to do such extreme mods like a pop up and dropping the cylinder and stuff.

I do like the 655... that is one mean green beast... looks great with a big ass filter on top of the carby...

No idea what I'll end up with to trade to Stumpy to get the little green machine back... I can tell you none of the Macs are leaving the stable, and that gray Craftsman/Poulan ain't leaving either, same for the red Craftsman/Roper and the Pioneer... maybe I can send him that little Woodshark as part 1 of the trade deal...

and when I do get the 3300 back, I can put the it in the truck in case some random tree thinks it's funny to hinder peoples' commute to work... I would then have to find some ethanol free gas to make mix for it... that way it can stay fresh for longer and not eat away at the diaphragm and fuel line.

Hey promac sounds to me like a fun saw.
I just finished up a 3450 myself. Widened up the ports just alittle raised them by maybe a half mm to compensate for removing the base gasket. Did a MM and so far seems to run pretty good. Have not done any testing in wood yet but all in good time.
