No I dont think its a 2900. A 2900 had no chainbrake nor did most US 2750.

I "think" you might have a 2775. No worries there all the same basic model.

Thanks for the info Mark.As i can see at ereplacmentparts.com,the Poulan's 2900 type 3 diagram is exactly the same as my saw.The 2775 is almost the same but it has a different muffler and crank bearings-seals.The muffler from my saw is identical with the 2900 type 3.As you said there is no problem, same basic model.

I want to ask something else.I checked the muffler and it is one part.Is there anything i can do about it?

Those saws are all right for what they were built for, occasional use trimming and non-professional cutting.

Granted it wasn't used on a daily 12 hour job, but it was always ready to step up the the task anytime, and stayed hooked up as long as it took. That's why it got posted. Super little saw. :)

Anyone interested in some horse trading? or buying....an oollldd cream-sicle

Had a Stihl s-10 come in today. He said his grampa bought it new. He is neighbors with my inlaws
It needs a carb kit, just had it running. It is top handle, but has a kill switch. No intrest in this saw. Who are the stihl-heads on this site? I've never ventured out of the nest of the poulan thread... :0

This is just about the LAST place you'll find the stihl-heads. Same with the McCulloch and Homelite threads. The stihl-heads live in the REST of the chainsaw forum. Post up in the Swap Meet thread (the 'regular' Swap Meet thread.......NOT the North American Mag one). It's also in the stickies index (where this thread lives).

Here are some things I would consider for trade; I'm not saying they are of equal value, but trades with some cash on either side maybe....

1) a parts 4000, so I can make a complete saw from one of my junk 3400's for dad

2) an 8500 cylinder that the bore is trashed

3) a bottom end, or just cases for my 4200

Damn, not asking for much are we.......

I'm not sure of the "tone of voice" implied here, but I'm not sure that I was clear enough.....Anything would be considered, and the 3 items are
mereley things i need/want. In no way do i expect 1 person to have all 3 items, willing to trade for a west-german creamsicle.....

Joe, I wish I had taken pics of my 335 before I rebuilt it. Yours looks ALMOST as bad as mind did AFTER I cleaned it and replaced all the AV mounts, the muffler, clutch cover, and bar and chain. I think I posted an after pic somewhere around here...

haha yeah its got a "layer" on it, but its an oily layer, Ive actually found this protects the saw! Ive yet to get one like this that doesnt clean up pretty good. I got this one and another 335 about a year ago. One is done and I use it a lot. I have all the parts for it now and the original 20" replaceable tip .325 bar.
I think I will replace the AVs since i will be tearing it all the way down.

Karl and I have been PM'ing and I can assure you all that he isn't expecting anything unreasonable at all. Karl, don't be worried about it, most of these guys just don't care for the German stuff. I happen to understand the saws because I started working on German cars right out of high school. Hell, I had to buy SAE tools to work on these old Poulans(and I have TONS of tools)!

Joe, that 335 should clean up nice! Was that a CL find?

Micro 25 looking for a home

Came across this clean little Mirco 25 Deluxe the other day. It's in the classifieds or I'd trade for Husq parts.
