Think we all have some of these. I have three. Couldn't pass up price. Yea, right. So who has a good source?

Bob

Well that's a good question. I don't have a good answer for it either.

But I do have a answer for the starter disk question that you asked the other day about. I went through the same thing last night on a 5200.

Did I mention that I got a 5200 yesterday?

Anyway I needed on of the recoil disc's that you talked about and tried the anti freeze jug but that is too thick. What I found that worked really well so far is a plastic "For Sale" sign. Seemed really close to the same thickness as the original disc.

I punched the center hole out with a gasket punch and its easy to cut out the outside.

It may not hold up as well long term but it works well for now.

Congrats on your new purchase Mark. Got mine together and will post pictures. Will try to have pictures open on post. Read thread on how to do it but haven't tried as yet. Don't know how well paint job will hold up as it already chipped in areas where I installed screws, etc. Makes me wonder.

5200 rebulid

Well here it is. Painted with two part custom mix and it looks okay. Wonder if it will chip as I already have small chips where I installed screws, etc. Started right up but haven't really run it with bar as I noticed chain turns when I pull recoil. Need to recheck clutch. Also painted top cover same as saw as my original OP manual shows all one color. Yet I've seen saws with a black top cover. Maybe I have an older model.

WOW! Looks great to me Bob, I'd be pleased and tickled with the way it turned out!
Good job of rescuing another great old Polan.

Gregg,

Bob,
The way I post pics is using Photobucket, its free. Open photobucket, when ya see the pic you want to upload, there will be a string of different codes displayed. Right click on IMG CODE. and copy. Then go to Arborsite in your post and click the insert image button. When the little window opens, right click in it, and paste the IMG CODE in it. When it appears in your post your working on, it usaully has an extra IMG thing at each end. Don't no why. But, I just get rid of them and it works. LOL
You can click preview post button, to see if ya got it to work, before posting it.
There is probably easier, better ways to do it, but works for me, pretty easy.

Gregg,

Like those stickers Gregg. Also solved problem of chain turning when I pull recoil. I had ordered a new clutch bearing as the old one had one needle missing. As it turned out new one was wider(deeper) by a good 1/8 inch(9/16 in. wide or deep. Put old one back at it worked perfect. Ordered correct part # so I'm not sure what went wrong.

Still unable to have open pictures. I right clicked on attachment . Did copy shortcut and pasted to post. Still no dice.

Bob, this thread helped this ole dummy out on how to do it.

Just remember when you paste the shortcut in the box to wipe out the http in it first.

That ole saw looks pretty good and there will be some repo 4200 and 5200 deacals being made soon from what I'm told. That would really set it off.

You wont believe this
how many here have a 5200 ? Starter springs are they hard to come by ?
Oem that is ?

Guess what i found

http://www.cmsmallengines.net/poulan-starter-spring-530042049-530-042049.html

Also have the 5200 decals

And mark the http and https very big difference in the two

As you notice when you go to this url at my site you notice the little Lock symbol is locked that means everything that is filled out and transmitted is 256 bit encrypted which simply means its secure
https://www.cmsmallengines.net/parts-request-form.html

I did that for a reason to help keep peoples info confidential

Bob if you can get me the part # for the part you asked about on the top cover sides i can see if i have it or not

Calvin, you got any 530032002 bearings? The Oregon # is 12069.
