I also see what looks to be a few bottles of Amsoil in the photo :) is that bar oil or Saber?

it needs an air filter cover, a very good cleaning and hopefully not a P&C.

Good deal. Would like to find one some day. When did you say Baraboo was this year? October sometime right? Looks like my travel plans have me going through this weekend......and most of the rest of WI

306 a carb tuning

I am a newbe to the forrum.
A buddy of mine gave me a 306 A and I loaned it to a buddy of mine. It didn't run 2 good so being the good friend that he is he decided to fix it. He took carb apart and cleaned it and then decided to adjust it. Well it don't even run now. I think th carb cleaner made the diaphram not work and it is out of adjutment. I found a kit from the oem parts store.com It is a tilstson HS59A. Can anyone walk me through what I need to do. The gas lines are hard and I will replace it before I go working on carb. The only adjustment screws I can find is the ones above the pull rope. They are not good but not my problem. It did run before. It has the cast iron muffler with 1 bolt so sounds like an electronic ignition. Thanks for the look and thanks even more if you help.

Went to the fastener store today and decided to take a quick wander through indoor flea market next door. Found a frankensaw of a 3700 marked at $100 - with a note attached to it saying 85 psi and needs a carb kit. I tried to explain to the lady that engine was smoked, but she didnt seem to get it.....

Close. August 17th-19th. Chainsaws are traditionally at noon on the 18th.

This year's featured tractor is Massey-Ferguson.

Homelite bar on a Poulan?

Will a Homelite bar fit a Poulan? Looking for one for my 7700, and Ric, at Loggertown, says he has a lot of Homelite bars, but none for Poulans. Is there a certain bar to look for?

Sometimes!
The Oregon DO96 will work on your 7700 and it is also used on many Homolites.
It will need the s-clip to shim the studs to the right size.

not sure about that, even the new Poulans are a pretty good value when tuned and maintained correctly. They will all cut a lot of wood. The older ones were designed to be rebuilt and last forever. Then they quit supplying the parts. The new ones are designed to be thrown away, but you can get parts for them. I am so confused.:msp_confused: enjoy!

I guess my definition is made by Poulan and not a Wild Thing (of which I have 5) or a Wood Shark, etc.
