Nice looking saw. Is that a chip right there in front of the muffler?

Sure looks like one but it's not. I guess it's just the way the light is hitting the bare mag. There is a slight mismatch between the two castings at that point as well but both halves are smooth and complete.

Sure could have used a spike to save the paint. I got carried away when I made the one for the 3400. If I keep the longer bar on this one I'll put it on this saw.

Mike,

It's about a 40 minute drive each way for me. I you want to pay $20 for my gas, $60 for the saw + shipping I will go get it for you if it's still available.

Tim

Tim,

I surely appreciate the offer and ordinarily I would jump all over it but, I better not spend any money for saws until I get back to work for a while.

Mike,

I e-mailed the guy just before I made the offer to pick it up and haven't heard from him so I am assuming that it's gone anyway.

If it was a 5200 You would have only seen vapour trails leading away from my house,

Hello Poulan guys, I just had a Poulan dropped off to me to add to my collection and was wondering if you guys could ID it from the numbers on her, I don't know much about older Poulans.

Model# 800377
Serial# A2774463

Thanks guys.

Thanks Mike, I was just looking at Fossil's pics of the Craftsman and it is identical but it's green with a grey recoil cover. I will get a pic up though probably tomorrow night. Thanks again.

That there is an early one and heres a few reasons why:
Round decal on clutch cover, which also is mag., not plastic
Different shade of red paint
green paint under the red ; all mine were red only.
All red hood with only black, A/F cover ; later ones had all black top
Round cover screw ; later ones had a + shaped screw
Different decal placement with an extra one on the top cover
20" bar. All the 3.4s Ive seen had 16" banana bars.
May even have an adjustable oiler like some early 3400s

She said they bought it new when they got their house in 1981, so likely '79 or '80

You forgot the 10-24 lower rear handle mounting screws!
