Finding saws has been tough the past couple weeks but I ran across a few today that I could not pass up.

We have a craftsman micro not sure what engine and a red craftsman 2.0, both run with a prime, the other top handle is a remington yard master I and a homelite SXL. I will be going through the two micros later today.

I have a SXL chain cover on the bay...If you want it I'll pull it.

Wanted: 20 or 22 inch bar for Poulan 361

Anyone have (or know where I can find) a longer bar for my Poulan 361? It has a 16" Windsor but only reaches to 15" since I added a dawg to it. I have some bigger jobs to do but I don't feel like dropping $50+shipping for a brand new bar (plus the cost of a chain) for an old saw.

I don't care about cosmetics, but it has to have some life left in it. Matching chains would be nice too, dull is OK, I'm willing to sharpen them myself.

You don't think there worth the expense because you evidently have never used one. For petes sake, I have bought them for as little as $6 shipped to the door.

I can be on the tight side myself a lot of times, but a few of you are really out there.

No need to buy the tool since I made one. Works just as well since all it has to do is turn the screw. It's not so much being tight as the fact that I couldn't find one around here and I was in a hurry.
Most of the saws I've worked on don't have the splines. I generally only work on saws that I own although I've made exceptions. I don't think any of my current saws have splined screws.

I actually was able to make a splined tool fit a craftsman mini tiller I was working on for a guy to adjust his carb. His had something totally different then the 4 epa drivers I posted in pic earlier in thread. :confused2:

That's a great illustration of why you need to keep the wood consistent, Gregg! I'm with you. I'm no racer and I'll be wary of any "ol' junks" or "ugly bastards" that show up. I think the "cats are out of the bag" there. (Those with those now worn out cliches know who you are.) But it will give us the opportunity of comparing some of the older saws, possibly with the new ones as well, to illustrate any differences in cutting speed. For instance, you could compare a 5200 to 8500 or even saws with similar displacemet such as 306 vs. 3700.

:ices_rofl: I'm with ya there Steve! That feller from Kentucky is a sly dog. If there was a picture in the dictionary next to sandbagger, his smilling puss would be there.:D He has a 4000, I want no part of in a race. But, I still am anxious to run it. :msp_biggrin:

Gregg,

Is someone else from Kentucky coming?????:msp_confused:

I know if I don't get busy readying a few of these ol' boat anchors of mine I'll just have to watch you guys run saws!
I doubt if mine will even crank.
I may leave them all home anyway. That way I can run saws all day and not have to clean any up and put them away when I get back home!:D

I picked this saw up today for $2.50 then added another $1.50 in fuel line.

I also picked this one up today for $2.50 and $1.50 for some fuel line. It is a craftsman 358.355150, does anyone know if it is a 2.0, looks the same as the other one.

Somebody better be bringing some saws, cause I was gonna do the same thing, LOL
All I got are STOCK old green saws. And, everybody knows, you can't cut wood with those.:dizzy:

Gregg,

Is it too top secret the where & when on the Poulan GTG or can I know? Would love to go if possible. I'm curious about these old green saws.

Turn right out of my driveway drive 40-45mins to the west turn into his driveway on same side of road. :hmm3grin2orange:
Scary how close it is. :msp_tongue:

Just throwing this out there for the poulan crowd.

I have sold off the 3400 - 4000 series and have some parts left to trade for the newer poulan parts like 3000 305 335 3300 330 3750 etc.

I have a complete 3400 recoil and flywheel, muffler, intake, 3400 cylinder could be cleaned up IMO (I'll look closer if needed with pics). I think a carb and trigger and passive safety with springs too. I might have more :msp_unsure::dunno:.

If I make it to the GTG could be brought there to exchange.

Couple years ago, some of us that allways liked the green, American made saws from Shreveport, La. decided to try and Get-Together and run them, with other like minded folks. Most GTG's are dominated by modern saws such as Sthil, Husky, Dolmar etc.
But, you would rarely see an old Poulan, unless one of us brought it. LOL

So we decided to have our own GTG, dominated by the Green saws. Other makes aren't disalowed. But Poulans are the main focus. We have been getting together here at my place in north west Ohio. Zip code is 45841. If ya want to look it up on a map. Need directions? PM me, and will let you know the specifics. All these old Poulan guys are a great bunch! Thats for sure.:msp_thumbsup: It is saturday, Oct. 13th.
