I don't think there was a PP version of the S25-CVA. Closest would be the PP S25AV, which has a different AV setup than an S25-CVA. Also has the full length clutch cover, a bar stud with nut (instead of the cap screw), and has different part numbers for the piston, cylinder, and rings.

I'm glad you couldnt remember because there is no Poulan Pro S25CVA. There is a Poulan Pro S25AV though and that is the one I just got. There is also a Poulan Pro S25

Edit

Aaron beat me to the enter key. LOL

Well, ain't I the dumbazz tonight......

PP330 serial number

What is the location of the serial # on a 330. I found it on the first 330 I bought but I've forgotten and can't seem to locate it on this one.

Thanks,

Its usually on a sticker tag. I have one earlier model that was on the saw body just to the right of the trigger handle and the later ones were on the cyl cover on the left side.

4000 carb

I can't seem to get the Walbro HDB carb on my 4000 working correctly. New kit, ultrasonic treatment and it still doesn't seem to work. Saw fires immediately with a spritz of mix. I saw a ZAMA C3A for sale on eBay and was wondering if this would be a good replacement carb. Seller says it fits 3400, 3700, 4000, 375 etc.

Make sure that the loop on the inlet needle lever is not streached out where it goes over the pin. If those levers are ajusted in the wrong manner, the loop can be damaged to the point where it wont let the lever pivit properly and thus wont move the inlet needle properly either.

I have ran into this before and now have a few complete metering plates from Walbro here.

I'll try that because I didn't like the looks of the way that lever was working to much anyway. Just kind of assumed it was OK. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my 4000. But at this point I think its an ignition issue. On my 3.7 I also had some issues, turns out the fuel line had gone bad in less than a year from the ethanol. Replaced that with new tygon and it runs fine. Check you tank vent too.

In answer to your 2nd question, Yes it will. The Zama C3A is what is on my PP375. I tried both it and the Walbro HDB, on the same saw, just for fun. Couldn't tell a bit of difference.:)

Gregg,

After a couple days of rain interuption, I milled the 3rd cant out of that Basswood. Hope it gives us enough to play with. :) Its ammazing how big of a log it takes to get a 10" square cant out of it. The last one I did was 16", and just did get a full 10" out of it.

Gregg,

Sure is pretty wood, Gregg. Almost a shame to cut it into cookies.

Gregg,

Y'all going to be doing some timed races ? :)

Nice job on the GTG, Greg. I can't yet rep you, need to spread it around first.

Steve, All wood looks good when in that form. But I guess it all is gonna end up in a pile of chips or dust, no matter if round or square.:msp_biggrin:

Thats the plan Chris. I'm not a racer, but I know some love to do that. Figured its the fairest way to test one saw against another. Best suited for smaller saws, I'm thinking. Big, fast, powerfull saws would take a blink of the eye in 10" of Basswood! :D I do have some bigger round wood to test big saws in.

I am working on a 4900 and am trying to remove the isolators from one tank and put them in another. Is there a special tool needed because these suckers are in there but good. The old tank has a corroded hole in it and the one he brought me has 4 bad mounts and new ones are more than he will spend. Any help?????
