I am working on a 4900 and am trying to remove the isolators from one tank and put them in another. Is there a special tool needed because these suckers are in there but good. The old tank has a corroded hole in it and the one he brought me has 4 bad mounts and new ones are more than he will spend. Any help?????

Yes there is Randy. Part# for the tool is 31054. Sad part is, I have never seen one.:( I doubt very much if they are available anywhere. Maybe Mark has a trick for removing them.

Gregg,

Yep there is a special tool. I dont know where to get one so I made one. PITA but it works.

Gregg,

Looks like I'm fixin to cut up a deep socket and make me a tool. That's all I can figure to do.....

Have we decided who will be calling me off of work? haha

Think I might be alright on this one. Boss man should cover for me, after all... I did tell him the significance of such a gathering. Hope to see you all there! Talked to a few of you already. Really looking forward to this, missed it last year.

So we decided to have our own GTG, dominated by the Green saws. Other makes aren't disalowed. But Poulans are the main focus. We have been getting together here at my place in north west Ohio. Zip code is 45841. If ya want to look it up on a map. Need directions? PM me, and will let you know the specifics. All these old Poulan guys are a great bunch! Thats for sure.:msp_thumbsup: It is saturday, Oct. 13th.

Is someone else from Kentucky coming?????:msp_confused:

I have been away from the forum for a while, but I have it on the calendar and hope to be there. As I recall it took me about 4.5 hours last year. When I was back home in VA last weekend I actually had room to bring several saws home, grabbed a 4000 and 2 245's (one Dayton based). I have pieces of a couple of 3400's here, perhaps I could make a runner out of one (but think I need an AF cover for both).

I picked up a dozen saws in a deal last week (including a Super 72 bow and 64) and traded off a David Bradley for a Blue Grass saw. Anyone ever seen one before? Not listed on Acres site, it was rebadged by the Blue Grass Tool Co. here in KY. I might bring it up to display if anyone is interested.

Pp 190

Made some pawn shop rounds today and came across a PP 190 arborist saw. I was under the clearance table and could only be seen from the back side. Had a climbing ring on it and looked WELL used and they wanted $35 for it. After paying the same thing for a 200T several months ago I really had no need for it and passed.

Did find a real nice Pioneer/Partner P-39 at another shop up the street but they would not budge off the $150 asking price so I left it behind (as well as a Husky 61 they were asking $99 for).

Not a bad deal on the 61 if it was a decent looking runner. They dont have the greatest resale, but I think they are fine saw. My first Husky was a 61 Rancher, and I thought it was a great saw. Quite a bit of power compared to my others at the time.

Come on Randy, get your redneck on!

It had an 18" bar on it but would not idle at all. I offered $70 bucks but they turned it down. I have several 55's and a 66 so no real need for a Husky in that size.

Hope it works out for both of ya's!

Super 72 Bow huh?

Let me know if that one moves on sometime.

Gary!! Good to see you on here again. I thought maybe your wife put you in a "timeout" like the E-Trade baby.:D I see you found a PC or smart phone and got back online.

Don't know much about the saws you listed, well except for the 4000, 3400 & 245 varients.;)
But, they sound interesting, and I'm sure one of the fellows will know something about them.

Hope you can make it back up. Be at the same place as last year.

Looks like the tool is still readily available. I googled the part number 530031054 and found a lot of places selling them, if you don't feel like making one. They're pricey, but here are a couple of the cheaper ones.

Outdoor Distributors - Lawn Mower Parts!

AYP EHP Poulan Sears Roper Part Number: 530031054

Yikes!! That is pricey. I wonder though, alot of places LIST things like that, but never have them in stock. Unfortunately. Marks home made tool looks like a winner to me!;)

Mark, my only problem is I don't have any "spring" steel. The only thing I have that might be strong enough would be a hard nose bar I could cut a piece out of. I've got several old Total hard nose solid bars, reckon that steel would be hard enough?

Pretty close Gary!

Blue Grass was actually a trade name for the Belknap company.
I remember going there as a LITTLE kid and my mother buying tools and hardware wholesale, to resell in the "Mom and Pop" grocery and hardware store that my mom and pop ran.
The Bluegrass hammers, hatchets and axes bring a premium price now days.

5200/8500 oil pump gasket

Does anyone have a good oil pump gasket I could borrow? I had ordered a few, from OrderTree, but they were back ordered for over a month (so were the gas tank gaskets for 306/245). I needed some of the other parts, I had ordered, and had to cancel the entire order, to re-order those parts. I want to use the gasket as a pattern to make up a few to have on hand.
