Thanks but that's funny! No I'm no expert, just always liked some of them, and had some experiance with some mostly back in the day.

I have been more interested lately in some of the history and the series of the different models.

Oh and I have a few Poulans and am always on the lookout for more of them! (along with all the other brands too!)

Calvin, you need to make up a list of those Poulan parts you have and post em up, and if you have any that I can use, and priced right, I will try to help you make some vanish

believe me you wont have to worry on the prices they will be within boundary very very cheap most parts will be $ 0.50 - 1.25 in that range remind me to take a photo of that poulan i have out in the parts saw complete pile and take a picture of that poulan that is dressed up in a homelite type body

i think its cute cause it has a poulan name on it but the chasis is a homelite xl 12 chasis

I have a 3800, but it needs a fuel tank before it will really do anything. Anyone have one?

I have a tank from a 3400 Countervibe PN# 530010286. The 3400 and 3800 IPLs show the same part number. PM me if interested. I'm clearing the old parts and saw collection a bit this year...

Yeah, if that thing done that to my dog, it'd have a slug right between its eyes! :censored:

i would not mind having a pet chimp i believe it would keep them blackbirds crows out of my yard eating the bird feed i have out there for the other birds to eat them crows come in and chase them small birds away

Good thought....

Say, have you seen my PM, Mr. CM? I sent it last week I think.

Actually yours looks quite different (not to mention in much better shape) than mine. I thought it was gear drive until I went to Acres and saw it is "roller chain reduction". Never heard of that. Anyone know how that works?

...Carl

A small sprocket on the crank and a large sprocket driving the chain sprocket. Same setup as a Homelite belt drive. Tom

I have a pair of 306A`s from 1979 that we did a lot of cutting with and strangely have never taken picts of them, must do that sometime, but then I have dozens of saws that I have not taken picts of.

The 45 I believe it is a direct drive saw and the 46 is chain reduction. The chain drive saw and was cheaper to produce and had a little more chain speed. The Poulan Super 72 is gear reduction and was fitted with a 8 tooth 1/2" sprocket so it had close to the same chain speed. I have some Poulans still. I have 5200,71A,s72,245,306,3400,3700,86,62,33,32.

Have you ever seen a 744? I got a IPL on one and thought it looked interesting.

They were based off the 245. Decent saws will pull a three foot bar with .404 pitch chain.

Wouldn't it be easier to tell us which ones you don't have?
