Oh but their is. The 250 is a basic clamshell saw. Nothing wrong with a 250 I love mine but if I was in your situation I'd jump on that 260. Mag case pro saw.

I emailed the seller with the 260 (no phone number ). Hopefully I can get a look at it tomorrow. Been on CL for a month and reposted a week ago, maybe there's room for negotiations.

for that money you could probably find a site member that would sell you a husky 55....good saw and tough a few weak links like any saw in your price range but excellent value for a fie wood cutter.....good luck...in think better than a 250 but just my opinion...

I ran a 3400 for 20 years, damn good saw! Yours is likely low on compression.

Getting kind a hard to get some parts so maybe time to move on.

I think the old poulan feels like it's got pretty good compression. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the old saws never ran very high compression to begin with, at least compared to anything considered low emissions?

I gave the old poulan a new spark plug, fuel filter and fresh gas this morning. It's trying to go. Still won't idle and is bogging. Last time I had it apart, I noticed a good bit of flakey carbon build up. It's possible some has come loose.

I'm going to look at that ms260 tonight. Anything I need to watch out for?

The MS250 would serve you well, a 260 even better. Stay away from the little MS170/180.
