Maxima K2 is a excellant product. Motul600 is geared towards oil injection systems so its not the best aircooled mix. Yamaha 2r is also very good and has had a excellant reputation for years among roadracers. It is not made by castrol though. Citgo makes all of the yamalube products in the usa and canada. Citgo also makes echo's new synthetic blend mix.

bwalker what do you think about Mobil MX2T ?

I like your fancy talk and respect what you have to say.
Could you comment on the MX2T?

Respect "HIS" fancy talk?
He probably used and sold "slick 50" when it was the rage.
If you just use whatever oil that is for chainsaws/2 cycle
you will be fine, any other hype about "special formulas"
is really a boatload of crap, you will not get any more "performance" or longevity either way. If you
gain no noticable benefit from whatever miracle product, then
why use it?
I do use wd-40 for my arthritis though. I seem to feel better and
my joints don't ping.

Sorry, I thought I was trying to pick a fight with Otto, not
John Wayne. Aw, hell, let my comments ride anyway.
What about the Llamalube?
I like you guys.

Then you all will show a little respect when I stumble into the room.
I mean it now, I carry my "Fisherized" Eager Beaver with me
everywhere, in my front pocket.

It has a 4 inch bar with .404 full chisel chain. I ground off
all of the depth gauges to let its full power be known to the
logging world, it has a muffler off of a Peterbilt tractor
and the carb is off of a musclecar, it runs on a mix of 112 octane
with a squirt of opti-something in it. Everyone
comments on the bar length, but I do not get discouraged.
I am like the energizer bunny.:)
I have trouble expressing my true feelings, especially now it is
Sunday, and my beer supply is running low.
But I think I have enough to make mvp tonight.
Just kidding you all though, but what is wrong with just using
regular Stihl/Husky/Jonsered/Poulan/etc 2 cycle oil?
Do you all really believe that these other oils will give you
better results? If so, what results?
Just curious.

you go Fish!

While he was distracted, I managed to obtain this pic of Fish as a kid. Now we know why.........

Fisher, the obvious results are, like you have already heard that engine wear is reduced and the carbon buildup in the engine is almost non-existant. But, heck - its all snake oil to you so what would you care:eek:

I learned cpr early in life, it just took a few years to get it right.

As far as the benfits of these oils, I doubt that there is any real gain on using them, carbon buildup is usually attributable to a
rich mixture due to a clogged air filter. Scored pistons are not
able to be blamed on oil mix choices, as lean seizure or a "no"
oil scenario, or dirt ingestion.
Just so you all know, that "dog" and I are happily married now
and have a fine litter. But a couple look like Otto, so I am curious.
I thought my wife had better taste.

mix

I don't believe I am saying this, but I agree with Fish on this one.
I am not seeing failures due to oil mix. Lean mix adjust, air leaks, bad air filter maintenance and bad fuel (old or contaminated), but not a mix problem.
You want longer life and less carbon, maintain the filter and make sure adjustment is correct.

Hades has a frost warning tonight!

I respect your opinion Stihltech, as I do everyone else here.
I do give everyone hell though. But if we are to endure the constant onslaught of infomercial garbage, we should at least
require a little supporting data/evidence to support these
outlandish claims.
I respect you Stihltech, you do not back down. Hell, no one
here backs down!
I still do not like the 029 though.
I like almost everyone here.
Stihltech, I am sorry if I came across as a jerk earlier this spring,
it is just my nature.
Huskyman and Poulotto, I am not sorry.
Just kidding.

Now Bill, I will make mvp on my own. I can crank out nonsense like everybody else here.
I appreciate the offer though.
You have a problem in my taste in women and pit bulls though,
I gather.
The taste is quite lingering

mx2t

Otto/Don, Mx2t is avery good product. I use it in my motorcycles because it is cheap, burns clean, and is easy to tune. I will work fine in a saw, but not as good( in extreme conditions) as the others I have mentioned. This is due to the fact that the mx2t uses a group three mineral base while motul 800 and maxima k2 use high cst polyol esters. What this means in laymans terms is that the ester oils will take more heat before they break down. With todays epa mandated plugged up mufflers piston temps are very high. In high load situations such as milling and long bar burried cuts with a stock epa muffler in hard wood the ester oils will offer more protection than mx2t. For everday use though mx2t will be fine and in fact will be better than the run of the mill husky and stihl oils.

Fish, Shouldnt you be out "fisherizing" your beaver or fornicating with a llama? BTW I have never touched a bottle of slick 50. I know sheep dip when I see it also.:D
