Yes Many times over the last couple of years. I have talked to you before. I just check in occasionally to see if any one has come up with one & of course to see what project pioneers folks are working on.

I have a crazy idea maybe you guys can help me with. I'm looking to put a bar on my father's Super 2400. I know the saw originally came with a 24" bar, But a lot of smaller saws came with 24" bars aswell. There are 65cc saws that came with 28" bars. This saw is 77cc, The question is how big can I go? I already have saws with 24" bars so I really don't need another. I would like to have a saw with a bigger bar for those 'big trees' so I was going to go with a 32" bar. But the problem is that the place I'm getting the bar dose not have this size instock and does not know when they will be instock, infact I have been witing for a 32" bar as far back as Dec. 1 and we kinda want to get this saw going. They have informed me today that they can suppy me with a 36" bar, but I just don't know if this size bar on this saw is just crazy talk or not. What about a 36" bar with full skip chain?

Try Baileys, there is a link to it on the home page. I get my 32" chains from there for around 16 - 18 dollars. I have seen 32" bars on their site also.

Sorry RENNIE; I get asked for Pioneer parts so often that I forget who asked for what and on what site I read where someone is looking for parts. I often have to buy a whole saw to get one of those old plastic covers, they are so thin and brittle they get broken with the drop of a hat. LOL.

I just got hold of a Pioneer P42 HP in fair condition that might make a good project. It has good compression, starts pretty easily and runs strong, though could certainly use a bit of clean up and tuning. The rear handle has a weld repair. There is a wear hole in the clutch cover. Clutch looks and works OK. Air filter missing, though the cover is present. A piece of foam has been substituted for the air filter, so at least there was some kind of filtration. It is missing one bar stud. $40 plus shipping, or what have you to trade? I need a Stihl big pattern bar, 36", pref .063 gauge, pref. 3/8 sprocket nose. PM me

I'll post this at the Swap Meet thread, also. Just thought the Pioneer guys might be more likely to see it here.

P62 Air Filter

Yes the larger P series air filters are interchangable. Please note that there are 2 different types of filter systems used. One is a flat filter the other is a plastic insert with a fine screen. The carb mounts and inner rubber liners are different for each type. Either system can work on saws P38 up to Poulan Pro 655

Hi fellers, does anybody know if the air filter from a p42 will also fit a p62? Thanks

I just picked up this Pioneer Partner p62 and it is in nice shape but it came without an air filter. It has the rubber insert but no element. How can you tell which system it had or does it matter?

Chances are its the flat style. Does your saw have a hose clamp holding the rubber air box to the mouth of the carb?

Ok. I can't stand it. I'm going to go ahead and do the rebuild & restoration of my 1074, sans air filter cover. Might have to coax the boss to let me have our cheif CNC guy make on based on the diminsions on the cracked & busted one I have. Do you think there would be a market for these covers machined out of aluminum. I think I have enough of the original to make an exact replica. Except for the the wood surface texture. I work for a manufacturing plant, so we have plenty of CNC & conventional machine tools. NOW , I have not seen the IPL or shop manual for the 1074 in the list of manuals you fine gentlemen have assembled so far. Unless I just overlooked it. So I am in need of these two, please.:bang:

Yes Im bangin my head against the wall over the air filter cover thing...:dizzy:
