Those are extremely hard to find. You may want to send Propliner a pm, he mentioned near the top of this page he had some parts for sale.

recoil spring

Well first, a report back: The problem with my pinion was not the pinion, but the rope pulley. Thanks! You were correct, Lou. But they both need to be replaced. I found the pinion, but the pulley is not available. Does anyone know of a source for those?

second question: can anyone tell me where I can to find instructonis on how to replace the recoil spring. The sping came off the pulley...not sure why. But I recall instructions for redoing that, but dont know where to find it. I cant find it on the site....not sure how to search for that.

Thanks again to everyone.

I have tried many different methods and this one works best for me. The first 2 or 3 coils are very difficult but you hit a point where it becomes easy. I cannot do this with my mate present; I find course language helpful.

Recoil Spring Rewind
I invert and secure the starter housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection and both hands). I am right handed so I tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. The tension will hold the spring in the housing once completely rewound. Then bend slightly the inner most part to engage the starter spool. It will require about 2 turns of pretension for it to retract properly.

The video is very helpful with tensioning the spring.

Lou- Recoil spring

thanks Lou- my question is ...now what? The videos on youtube show that you just put the pully on and turn it till it drops into place. But mine has not done that. It just turns... not does not engage. I'll try bending the spring a bit today.

Thanks again in advance.

P51 Ignition

Hi guys
Really need your help finding a igniton coil for my Pioneer P51 chainsaw or even a whole saw that is running or not that they would consider selling.
thanks
I have parted out several P50 and P60 saws recently and have an extra used one. PM sent

Pioneer Farmsaw

Hey All

Before I start...yes I posted this in the manuals thread...but I am hoping a Pioneer lover will have the manual for the Farmsaw

Also it seems to be leaking bar oil...not it is not just the residual left in the bar that is leaking. Does anyone know how to adjust the flow on a farmsaw?

Thanks in advance...the farmsaw rips like crazy!!:blob2: I love the saw and want to keep it in good shape

Look under the clutch cover above the sprocket, there is a big slothead screw, probably covered with sawdust. That is your oiler adjustment. I just had one apart and I can't remember which way is more oil...clockwise I think. Someone will straighten me out before long....

Can't help with a manual but...here's an IPL. 475156 is your oiler.

Cheers Guys. Rep to both of you!

No sawdust in my saws...blow them out after every use...thank you for the help on the adjuster!!

Man I wish I had the manual for her...love the saw...I have a 455 Rancher, Poulan 3600 (actually a great saw) and my Farmsaw...these 3 will be with me for awhile!!! Got rid of a few in the last couple of years but these 3 are keepers (Just cut for myself and my parents for heat:angry:)

@ Colesy
Brian and Modified Mark have a link to the manual that came with my FarmSaw II. (#431750) if you give me an email address I will send a copy to you. My original is 38 pages. 19 in English and 19 in French. Both versions have page 19 in the center but the text is upside down on the right center page. I can send the entire manual, English only or French only. Your choice.
Lou
I did not see any oiler adjustment listed or woulld have replied sooner.

@ rzacc

The recoil spring fits trough the groove (see white line) in the back of the Take-Up-Spool. The inner most small round coil will nest in the spool (see white Circle) once tensioned.

Just a thank you to Dan Can for finding and dropping off a real nice RA.
Later in the afternoon I took it out to the shop and began a little lookover, it is almost complete and will make an easy project to get up and running, mostly fuel related overhaul, will post picts as project gets underway.
