Hi Fellas
Thought you guys might like to see this service bulletin that I found while thumbing thru the service bulletins I have.It concerns the air filters for the RA.I have other service bulletins as well.

That is one bulletin that I have never seen, it must have come out long after the RA was issued as it states no more screen type filters were available and could not be reordered. The bulletin came from Peterborough so that was after the RA was made in Vancouver. Is there a date on that bulletin ? Also never seen a pleated filter on or for a model RA.

Very interesting.......noted that the updated kit comes with new adaptor plate(hence the new carb gasket). Wonder if Jerry has seen some of these?

Thanks for posting that update Lawrence

Drew

Not in my time around them, all RA`s had wire mesh filters, the model 600 `s have oval pleated filters.

Updated filter

Hello Guys
Jerry I will look for a date on the service bulletin.I have an email into Purolator filters to see if that upgrade filter is still available.I wonder what other service bulletins I have that your eyes have not seen LOL HMMMMM!
Seriously though Jerry I would think you have a great deal of literature.I think I should post the carb info that I think I have, as a fellow has been having trouble with on his RA.What do you fellas think about sharing Pioneer printed information on here as well?

Its a Pioneer thread so I for one would have no problem with posting any Pioneer related literature, bulletins or IPL`s on here. They will be useful to some of us and if there is some that don`t want to read them they can just look at the picts. LOL.

Lawrence, like pioneerguy600 I would also appreciate any pioneer literature that you may have. I realize that your literature is regarding the earlier pioneers, however if there is interest I can post the origional owners manual and parts list for a P-40.

I think posting info about saws that are no longer produced, by a company that is no long operating should be fine. It is in the spirit of this Pioneer Thread.:)
On another note....."we the Newbies" really appreciate all the info that is expressed and implied by guys like you who have the knowledge and literature to keep an interest alive with these old saws. I understand that some of (our), my questions get a little old and repetitive, but remember that all your advice and suggestions keep those old saws around for another generation.
When I got my first RA, most of the people around me laughed and told me to take it to the dump. I was told not to waste my time and it would never run again. Yesterday I took it around town for the nay Sayer's and started it up for them. Well.....there is a lot of interest now. Stories were started about fathers and grandfathers that had one or knew someone that had one. People are looking in sheds and barns for missing pieces. That in a large part, is thanks to this thread and all those who contributed to it.
For that, I thank you all

FarmLite Lives

I got my FarmLite running again thanks to help from here, propliner in particular and my neighbor. The P-38 pulley that propliner recomended did work. My neighbor bored it out a little and cut down the post on the cover a bit and it works now. Thanks guys for your help.

Pioneer 1073 bar stud removal

I am trying to remove a stripped bar mount stud from a Pioneer 1073. Does anyone know if I have to remove item 93 in the attached pdf? Is the stud left or right hand thread on the case side?

Petesoldsaw suggested I post my question in this thread.

Thank You!

Not as yet, I am also trying not to entice myself into any further purchases as I have 33 new arrivals to wade through.

Ok, you guys made me do it, went and took a look. The 1450 is a nice one for sure, little different than mine and sure to be a collector piece. The NU 17 is even a rarer and more desirable collector and a good deal in the shape its in with only the primer pump needing attention.

Jerry's Saws

Hi Jerry
Your saws are just great Jerry,I'm wondering how many I have not seen yet.I have never seen the Maritimes, maybe I will just have to make a trip out there one day.I am going to try and post a picture of the P28 today,I have just about finished cleaning it up.Had the muffler off and looked at the piston and chamber. From what I coud see it looks good, from what I have been told to look for.
