Pioneer ????????

Hello Drew
I am in no way much of an authority about Pioneers, but this is weird,I just posted this morning about getting my cleaned up P28 pictures in the thread. And,well that looks an awful lot like my P28.Apparently if I got this right from propliner, they were the first small Pioneers to have an Anti Vibration system. Also those little black rubber anti vibe thingy m bobs, are a pain in the ass to remove.propliner mentioned to use a set of vise grips to remove them but I did not want to risk damaging them so I just worked around them. Also that little black square that is some sort of throttle lock, and is easily broken I believe. When you take that handle assembly apart be careful, there are two little piss ass springs in there that can go missing real quick.I am thinking of installing bigger ones. I have some info on the P28,let me know if you want me to post it or email it to you.Hope to get that picture on the thread today sometime

I have no plans for this saw. Had a good idea that it was a possible P-series. Don't know how I missed it on Acres site??? I have got a lot of help from the members here on other saw models, if this is something you can use or need parts from let me know. Could trade for something(small), as I have no use for it.

Edit: saw is spoken for

Pioneer Farmlite

I started by posting this on the main chainsaw forum but, it was suggested to me that I might be better served posting in this thread as well. So, here it is.....

I just came in from the shed where I went digging around to find the "green saw" that's been there for a long time. Turns out it's a Pioneer Farmlite. It's got a chain brake so I'm guessing it's not THAT old.

I remember it ran when I put it in the shed but, it now looks a lot rougher than I remember. The bar is pretty corroded and at first look it appears that the engine is stuck.....however, it could just be the chain/bar/clutch are corroded together.

I'm going to start by giving it a good scrubbing, check the chain brake and clutch. I may also pull the muffler and look at the piston and cylinder.

At the very least I know it will need an air filter. What is available as far as information on these saws? Any chance of finding parts...like an air filter?

Any and all information is welcome.

btw--I am stuck with dial-up internet so pics are going to be a challenge...but I'll give it a try.

Most parts are available but not just at every shop, most of us on here know where to find parts for the Pioneer chainsaws, I myself am mainly concerned with the older Pioneer saws and others on here are more into the newer models like the P series and the crossover models with Partner and Poulan. Post what you need and I am sure some of us can help you out.

Check out this old 1110. It has spark, but the fuel lines look a bit melted and the carb gaskets are prob stiff as a board. Think its worth anything?

SilverBox and his Pioneer 1110

Hi SilverBox
Is your saw worth anything.Well as someone once told me,it's worth something to someone who wants it.A few more details will help if you are wanting to part with it.What shape is the piston and cylinder in?

Dollar wise they can be had for between $ 50. and $ 100. just about anywhere, not rare or sought after by collectors and no demand for users as the newer saws are more powerful and have safety features. It is worth what you value it at but can only sell it for the price you can negotiate between you and a buyer. IMO

Thanks for the heads up on that porky616. Did you get the parts you needed to complete your 600 from the fellow near you ? I think you needed a fuel bowl and airfilter if I remember correctly.

not as yet jerry the bowl is proving to be an issue. but now i have the sprocket i can paint it and get her all back together, hopefully this bloke will list one on ebay and i should be right. i just want to get it painted so i can put it in my bar room and keep it clean no more wood cutting for this old 600!

Ok ,if you don`t come up with one let me know. I lost all my records last year when my computer crashed while I was away on holidays and it took me near a week to get back up and running but never got my stored correspondence back. I think I had your mailing addy but lost it. Drop me a PM sometime.

1074

Hey Guys
Rennie here. I know its been awhile since I posted but I am wondering if anyone know if the P26 & the 1074 have interchangeable Air filters & airfilter covers???
Getting desperate.
Thanks:(

REENIE Air Filter

Rennie, good to see you back on here,it's been a while, your right.I looked up what info I had on the air filters and covers. The P26 air filter part number is #431227.The air filter cover is part number I believe is #475296 or #476296 my IPL's numbers are just not that clear to distinguish the 5 and the 6.But the number would include the cover screw and washer and spring as well as the decal. It shows the air filter cover with the air slot cut out in the back part of the cover like the P28 has.I do not know if the Pioneer 1074 is the same. You might want to ask propliner, pioneerguy600 or pioneerman.Others may want to give feedback as well, and I hope they do

As a follow up to the last post I should include the following information. You can find many chainsaw IPL's on the web by a google search type in the word chainsawr, just like I have spelled it.Scroll down a bit and you will find it
Lawrence

One thing it depends on for the air filter covers for those saws is the carb. If they both have a Tillotson or both have a Pioneer, they can probably use the same cover. The hole for the mounting screw is in a different spot depending on the carb brand.

Top cover

Artie, the covers all cam into the carb manifold so are all the same. The P26 and 1074 filters and covers are identical.

1074

You guys are the best. I think this will make it a bit easier to find. Now... The big question, Does anyone here happen to have either of these parts. I have noticed some of you fine folks have acquired parts by the palletfull (LOL), since I started asking last year.:greenchainsaw:

BTW, Did is see a post somewhere that Mike Acres has access to vintage parts?

Rennie
