Thanks man, I never ran a 3270 so not sure how they are. I am kind of at a loss as to what to do with it, the saw fired and that makes me want to keep it in one piece but at the same time it is probably worth more as parts?

I have only had my 3270SC out a few times. Nice muscle. I hadn't the nerve at the time to seat the H needle. I later found out is permissible on these Tillotson HS carburetors. I have since put an 8-pin rim on the 16" bar it came with. It needs a whole lot more bar/log to realize its potential.

Here is a shot of my first run in the bush with it (16", 7 pin, 0.375" - 0.050"). I was fooling around and it was still pretty rich with the H almost seated.

Beauty saws.

Sounded good and looks good. I guess I'll get it up and running so that I can give it a try, the p40 seems to run fine and I'll put it in some wood this weekend. I still haven't got the bar studs for the Marine Outboard/650.:(

My 3200 went to live in Indiana.
Think if it as a Homie C-5 with less weight and more balls.

3270s are excellent saws. Seem to be quite the hotrod for the time. Try it, you'll like it. The primer can be problematic, but I've figured out how to completely rebuild them.

Hello all,

Were Pioneer P41's available without a chain brake?

Trying to I.D. an old saw

Try this link. I am not sure if it would help with the codes stamped on the ID tag. http://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/pioneer-p41-whats-with-the-letters-after-p41.37362/

FWIW I have a P41 with no letter on the tag proceeding the 41. Mine has a full wrap without chainbrake. It is likely the original set-up. I don't know too much about the P-series saws yet. I am still needing a couple things for my P41 to get it running properly.

I picked up this saw today...... guy I got it from said it won't run or even try to run....

It looks to be an early version with the green metal air filter cover and it is in nice shape everywhere! the tag on the bottom says P41H

It needs a new starter handle and rope, and a carb rebuild I think. I got it to start on the 4th pull and it ran then it started slowly bogging down and died.... any ideas?

I pulled the muffler and although the piston has a little brown carbon on it, the cylinder is clean and there is no scoring on the piston or cylinder!!

I will post a few pics tomorrow if I get a chance. I was excited to get it started at least!

Sounds like it should be a runner, I have some used parts for P41 and 51's around and three runners. They are a good saw and just keep on giving, the last ones that I picked up two weeks ago were a P40 (same as P41) and a 3270 (older mule of a saw. Good luck with it.
