My rule of thumb is if the piston skirt doesn't come up more than .010" above the exhaust port floor than just run it.

The increase in compression is worth a slight loss in exhaust port area.

Primer bulb system... Luckily it's in great shape and still works because I'm out of conventional carbs that will fit.

I dug into the PL-7A a little, it arrived with no spark plug, and upon further examination, it has hard little white "pellets" in the p/c. They look like bone fragments or pieces of seeds. A bug or something prolly started making a cozy little home in there. I'm prolly gonna have to do a total disassembly... Uggh!

Glad I haven't tried starting it yet!

Any ideas on how to get them out w/o disassembling??
P/C look good otherwise.

Roll it over to leave a bit of exhaust port open (pull off the muffler cover and baffle) and blow it out with an air hose.

Pray not much gets in the bottom end.

Prolly better off to pull it apart.[emoji848]

Yeah, or mix. Whatever is handy.

Dump in white plastic bucket. Let the crap settle and re use.

Reed cage possibly? But the reed cage is metal on the smaller saws unlike Homelites.

PL-7A runs great, it can't be the reed cage. A neighbor thought it could have been grain, like barley or rice,

But it's hard and does not break, even with a pliers. I dunno...

What colors do you think a Remy would look good in? Been thinking about "customizing" one, since the original paint falls off when you look at it wrong.

It's not anything that'll be done soon, only brainstorming for warmer weather.

Ran one of my PL-7s today, high side of carb is opened to 3 full turns out and it will still lean out and stall. Carb was cleaned and rebuilt. Any ideas?
