OK you Remington guys, put your thinking caps on and tell me what I've got---

I know that it is a craftsman, model # 917-353710 and that it's 65cc, measured, 1.91 x 1.38, other than that I think it looks like a rebadgered Remington SL 16. As you can see I need a few parts but would like to know if Remington parts will fit it. And if so who has a few spare parts to help me out ?? If I'm barking up the wrong tree please tell me also.

Roper. They have good grunt. Check Chainsawr for parts. The 'Old Magnesium Swap Meet" for possible trades or donations.

Be very carefull of that air cleaner lid. They are almost allways broken or missing.

Never seen one other than the Craftsman model. Its a nice saw, not one I would want to run all day, but stronger than quite a few.

I don't think any Remington parts will fit that. I think you would have better luck with Homelite XL parts. I could be wrong as I'm not familiar with any of the craftsman stuff except the old David Bradly stuff.

I may have a clutch cover and an air filter cover, just don't ask for a clutch that isn't broken.

Parts

I'm looking to buy an air filter and air filter cover for a newer Remington Mighty Mite. The kind that does not have the post and cap to hold it on. If anyone has one they would be willing to sell, please message me. Thanks

While we are on Bantam types; can someone confirm if my Wards is original paint?

Never seen a baby blue saw before. No decals or stickers on it.

My Wards/SL-11 is orange and white.

Had to squeeze my feeble mind, but I'm quite sure I've seen that color on the early sixties Wards built on the MONO frame. I'm also quite convinced that is a Super 754 you have there, with the lower rear handle mount/brace either missing or absent altogether. I suppose they would have had to modify it a bit in order to sell it as a Wards.

This one never had a brace. The hole for the stud on the bottom of the engine is not been tapped/threaded.

When Wards orders 20K chainsaws to sell in their stores they can get them made special/sans features you wouldn't see at the Remington dealer, don't you think?

Remington Bantam

I recently picked up a remington bantam.
Model Profile: Bantam
Sorry, didn't receive it yet. So don't have any pictures to post

I had never seen one before, it looked much older than my other remington saws, and it was a good price. Can anyone tell me anything about these saws (and possibly have a manual for it). Like how rare they are, and what they are worth?

Thanks. DFF

What color is the Bantam? Gear drive, or direct drive?

Pretty sure the bean counters at Wards, considered the cost of the lower brace and they might have been gently nudged by Remington to modify the original somewhat; but whatever the case may be, Wards was probably trying to save a dime in setting the price point of the saw.

It looks exactly like the one in the link I gave, except the paint is not as nice. Not sure about the drive.

First issues had the steel cable starter. Nice old saws, I have 3 of them. Value is subjective. Obviously a nice old collectible. Serial number and condition will have a lot of influence on that. Nice looking avatar, by the way. Super 770 perhaps?

I'll post pictures and serial number when it comes in the mail. And no, it's actually a Super 990 that I'm restoring.

All I was really wondering is, I paid $40 for the Bantam when shipping was done. Just wondering if I got a good deal on a good saw.
