I've heard of that invalid thing before, but I don't think it necessarily means he copied the # wrong.

My 046 SN is 140187602. I believe it was sold in 98 out West. It obviously did not have the good port timing #s when it was stock, but porting really woke it up!

OK Brad, so you are likely is a somewhat unique position to have both a 046 and a hybrid with good early cylinders. How do you compare them, one to the other? Does the hybrid seem to have more power at high RPMs and does the 046 seem to have more torque, or are they pretty much the same?

I'm fascinated by the thought of a hybrid, but love the torque of the 046.

The 046 is stock.

I have built several 440/460 hybrids, but have not done much in the way of comparing them directly to a 046/460. I think when we talk about one being stronger or higher revving than the other were really splitting hairs. IMHO, they run very similarly. When Randy says the 460 may have more torque, I don't think he's knocking the torque of the hybrid.

Here is a vid of my hybrid pulling a full comp chain on a 28" bar, buried in Oak. While a 460 May have a little more torque, the hybrid certainly isn't lacking. BTW, there are no special mods to this saw. The carb is stock, no finger ports, etc. This is just how well they mod.

This saw is going to mastermind ,it was picked up today just shortly ago and just crossed the border and became a us citizen

The raffle will most likely start anytime
