Above replyNo sir
All are Mahle jugs......
The transfers are MUCH higher in the "special" one.
That one is the oldest I think......it was on a 046 rather than a MS460.
The higher the transfers, the more the engine will pollute......EPA is the reason they got lowered.....
It's the jugs off the first year of 046 production saws- summer of '96 to summer of '97 that are the best. In June of '97 they had to change the timing numbers on the cylinders...and that's the run (June '97 to December '97) that got bad PTO side bearings that would only last about 30-40 days in the woods, or around 120-200 hours.
And that's a fact, Jack!!! My Dad's 046 was bought the very first month they came out. It is a runner for sure!JJ, I wish I had the knowledge you do my friend......you are a walking encyclopedia of chainsaw factoids.

I have that in notes at home somewhere.Jacob, do you know the serial # range to look for???
I was with him when he bought it. He was buying a replacement for his stolen 038 Mag II. He was looking at the 044 and I talked him into the 046. I knew little to nothing about saws back then though.Your dad knew exactly what he was doing.
