Here's one I came across last week. Black/White anniversary edition 112 with plastic tank/ lower half?
I have never seen plastic tanks on a 112 before, but it sure makes a weight difference! Anybody else come across this?

That was the last generation for the 112 chassis I had sold then in Orange but not the Black/White edition the tank and handle were actually from the 120si family also It should have the SI ignition coil and no points and Maybe a Bing carb in place of the Tilloston??

I haven't looked at the ignition setup yet, but your spot on with the Bing carb. I was actually hoping for the Tilly when I picked it up, but, alas, not this time.

I put this up in the other current Sachs thread but I see this is a nice ongoing thread and more popular. Excuse the double post

Question ???

Did Sachs -Dolmar ever make saws for Sears??? I wouldn't think Sachs ever did but you never know.

I work on saws for a guy that would rather work on mowers than chainsaws. I recently did a Craftsman for him that looks very similar almost like they were twins to some of the saws being pictured here . I never gave it a second thought about it assuming it was some rebadged Poulan.

I would have liked this saw for myself as it it had many pro features on it, looked well built, and sounded good like it had some power to it. I don't test cut these saws I fix nor do I sharpen chains I just get them running good in the shop and leave it at that to keep the price down.

I am not a Craftsman fan by any means but this one seemed to be a step above something you would find in a Sears store for quality.

I have never had an oppurtunity to run a Sachs but I would like to. I might have missed an oppurtunity. They look like good saws.

What is the model # of the Sears? About what year? Picture? If you can find that, I can tell you more.

It went back to the mower guy. I think it is still there. I'll check it out. I have to bug him anyway for some more Briggs parts for these 8hp engine projects I got going on for my brush mowers.

Now you have my attention that it is a possibility it could be a Sachs. I am sure I can wrangle it way from the owner of the saw.

Can You Measure the Stroke my memory is fuzzy but I think they were a 3.4ci The 112,113 114 and 116 were all 45mm bore and I think the 112 edition you have may share the crank from the 116 which is 35 mm stroke instead of the 32 mm 112-114 stroke???

Maybe not like I said that was a lot of years ago

I've been searching for a piston for a PS540 without much success. Does anyone know of a source or if instead the 45mm piston for a 116 would work? Thanks

Hi
Anyone got or know where I can get a spark plug/air filter cover for a 116
Think the 120 has the same cover and some others in that series.
Picked up the saw with cover missing and carb faults, new carb kit and she's up and running, now all I need is the cover and should be good to go! I only payed a tenner for it so buying the new bit no problem, if I can find one.

Engine sounds great, be good to see the old girl get into some wood

pic of my 123 with a new bar

i bought this saw a couple of months ago. i was hoping to find a 133/143 top for it. but so far, i haven't had any luck sourcing one and it sounds like anyone who has one isn't about to part with it. anyway, i went ahead and cleaned the outside, cleaned the carb and filter, replaced the vent, fixed the fuel line, and bought a new bar for it. it runs well and blows 180psi. if i can't find a new top, it will go on the market, as i don't have any need for another saw of this size and weight.

I have a Dolmar 144 (same saw as Poulan 5500)and I'll like to get it running. Does anyone know where I could get a Filter Housing (plastic part that holds air filter and is fastened to carburetor) for it? used or NOS.

I picked up this 6800i as a non-runner. Needs piston/rings. Oil tank has been melted alittle below the muffler location, I am probably going to jb weld it, maybe spring for a new tank. Pressure test to come. Does Dolmar sell a heat shield similar to the ones that Stihl includes in its gasket set? Don't want to melt the bar oil tank.

The muffler looks pristine. No rust holes, or even surface rust for that matter. It does look like it is the original muffler (not replaced/repaired or repainted). The tank plastic looks like it bubbled on the side near the dawg, and if I flip the saw over it will weep bar oil out of a small hole.
