Almost made me sick. Looked very clean except it was missing the air filter. It isn't a real old one, it had the black top covers and the screen inside. It had a 36" bar and chain on it as well. Allthough the bar had been painted.
He was asking $600 for it. He told me they gave $300 for it. best he would do was 5 bills, so no I didn't buy it. I cant imagine someone letting that saw go for $300. Very sad. The pawnshop guy told me they expected it to come up hot, as it was a younger guy who brougt it in, but he said it wasn't.
They got some new computer systems that is linked up to the police somehow and they enter the serial #'s and can find out very quickly. Allthough I have my doubts how well it works. We had our saws stolen beginning of this year, and they all wound up in pawn shops. The first 3 were in the pawn shop within a week. The two 7900's we had (long after the reports and stuff was filed) ended up in the shops about 2 months later and on ebay. With all the reports and serial # documentation, I have little faith that this system works. And if no one has noticed it stolen or reported it yet, it wouldn't show up either. Which is kinda the reason for posting.
So if you own a dolmar 7900 with a 36" bar on it and live in the central ohio area, go check your truck/garage/shelf/wherever you keep it and make sure it is still there.
