You soak your handle heads in something to keep them from drying/shrinking? I remember something about the in HS shop class. I'm constantly driving wedges back in on my hatchets.
A good taper fit and a glued wedge that’s at least 2/3 deep into axe head is usually good enough, unless the head is heavy, then I will use barrel wedges to secure it , most box store axes and mauls are hydraulic pressed in so it’s not a good fitment and will eventually come loose after awhile . Stop taking pictures while you're driving and get some fuel for that beast lol.
What ride is that.
The one I'm driving today says 7.3mpg :).

Here's some pics of a tree I drive by sometimes, this thing is huge, and it already lost a very large limb.

Hah! I was in the hotel parking lot. It's my wife's 2019 Traverse. I didn't think 25 mpg was too bad. 7.3 isn't terrible for the rig you're driving.

Can't tell from the pic but is that it silver maple?

Good morning guys.

I didn’t have the kids yesterday, so spent most of the morning working on the cast-iron restoration and then went for a four wheeler ride in the afternoon. Was able to get about 60 miles on the wheeler. Minnesota is not very user-friendly for most outdoor sports however, our county allows ATVs on their county roads, so you just need a skirt around the state and US highways.

Back to the grind today, my son’s truck which has been out of commission for the winter is finally done and has a new transmission so we have to go over and pick that up this afternoon.

Took a relative by marriage (Matt's BIL) for a ride in the Mustang yesterday. He is a long time motorhead. While he was impressed with the power and performance, he was just blown away with the handling! I did not push the limits with him, but I took him into a few turns fast enough that he thought we would have difficulty, but the Mustang went through them w/o even being a bit stressed.

I think the combination of suspension parts from Steeda and Griggs Racing, the wider Steeda wheels, and Nitto 555 G-2 tires have it dialed in about as well as it can be dialed in for a streetcar (these tires are also VG in the rain). It is always nice when you exceed someone's expectations!

Easter went well at my younger daughter's house. Both my daughters, the grandkids, Matt's sister and her family, and a niece from VT were all there. In addition to good food and wine, we even played some frisbee outside (I gave out several last Christmas, we finally got to use them).

That was so the average guy wouldn't deal with it and bring it to the dealer for a tune up. Actually I have no clue but that is my thought on it.

Only thing I’ve heard is people like them better because water isn’t so quick to get into the distributer, during water crossings.

In case some of you guys didn't know where bologna comes from. :omg:

From personal experience, if yoir doing deep mud/water it doesn't matter where the dizzy it. It's gonna flood out if it isn't silicone together.

on the rail trail

One of our volunteers just hiked most of our adopted river trail, none of us had been that far in since November. The winter has kept us out, with rock slides and washouts. The 8 mile dirt road is closed to vehicles and foot traffic, so he had to get a permit to enter a closed area from the Forest Service, and hike the 8 miles to the trailhead. This was done at their request, they’re throwing gobs of money at them for repairs to storm damaged trails. They wanted us to document damage, to show need for the money. She said it could potentially be used to hire a crew, or rent/purchase equipment.

We put a trail through here last year, he said the picture doesn’t do it justice.

I don’t even recognize this spot anymore. There was no clearing through the brush and trees, and no exposed rocks/boulders.

Between our camp and the river, this sand wasn’t there. The water was closer.

He said it was slow going with brush and trees in the trail, and thick vegetation.
