My turn to be enlightened......
Why do people refuse to give you an address until you are pulling out of the drive when purchasing something on Facebook? Even had one that refused to give it to me til I was within a mile of his town. ????? Told him no thanks he could keep it. So why the secrecy with the 007 agents? They end up giving it to you anyway so why does 30 minutes make such a difference??
If somebody offers them a few more bucks than you're agreed on price they can sell it without you confronting them in person.

Not a usual site . Was driving the Chevelle and it started ticking and it got louder so I nursed it home . Got it on the trailer today to take it to my shop at my rental property. Took off the valve cover from the side I heard the noise. Found everything in order . Started it again and found the rear header bolt was missing . So it was just a blown gasket . Getting one tomorrow . Deciphered the numbers the heads are 1977 to 81 . I knew it had hardened seats so unleaded is ok IMG_6576.jpeg70923433998__AB325A41-0E0B-4B2F-A301-A343325EC9C5.jpegIMG_6585.jpegIMG_6586.jpeg

I do not give the address...
I do not give the address. Full stop.

I do give the location where I will meet. Driving a few miles to town is worth it to me. Then they are welcome to drive by that location slowly as often as they would like. I also don't bother selling anything under $20 - I'm always wondering why people go to the effort of creating an ad for a $5 item.

My 2019 F-150 is my first full size truck, but I had ridden in many trucks before. This thing is smooth, quiet, handles great, very peppy and gets great gas mileage (on flat highway +/- 25 MPG). It is the Sport model with extra ground clearance, so it goes up the 4wd road to my cabin w/o any issues.

In the winter I put Blizzak tires on it and call it my snow country Ferrari!

IMO, if you don't do heavy towing, it is the perfect truck (2.7 ltr bi-turbo w/10 speed).

Don't drive it a lot (I just love driving the Mustang), but in over 4 years have not had a single issue, and when I do drive it, it is usually hauling the ATV, or towing the trailer, or climbing the mountain. I have the extended cab and a 6.5' bed, just big enough to fit my Polaris 570. My grandkids fit in the back, and if I take them fishing and park close to the guardrail, they can slide across to the other side w/o any problem.

I think it was just the right truck for me and my needs, and in April 2019 I got a darn good deal on it brand new (it was on the lot). Paid $36,000 with a 9 year old (rusted) Escape trade-in. Sicker price was over $47,000. I could have paid cash for it, but instead financed $20,000 through my credit union for less than 3%. Payments will end in less than a year.
That was a great deal. My RAM listed at $42+++, I paid $31,183 for it if I recall correctly.

I should mention I only had people drive from my house for bigger things that I don’t want to move such as a snowmobile, etc.

Agreed about the value… I see people posting things for five and $10 all the time and wonder why waste your time… If one person is late, you’ve already lost more money than he would’ve gained. The other thing I’ve seen is women selling bras for five dollars… Why even bother especially when you might get some creeper who buys them to try to connect with you.

Simple, there are too many people stealing things today and people are living in fear. Way too many times I have given out my address and the buyers never show up. Now I tell them to call my home number when they get into town and ask for an exact time when they are going to call. I have many things that need to be done around our properties and don't feel I should have to waste my time on deadbeat buyers. Real buyers know when they are coming and what time they will get there. Losers say yeah, sometime today I can get there.

Nice looking Chevelle. I wish I had kept my 66 SS 396 convertible that I owned back in 72.

That's been MY experience forsure!!

My 2003 FORD F250 adventures. Driving to Ct. from Ma. to pick up a brush hog mower. I'm pulling a hill on Rt 84 at 75mph. My truck comes out of OD and downshifts. It never made it into 4th gear as the transmission clutch pack explodes internally as the motor revs up. Tow job 93 miles to home. Another time I drive to Walmart to pick up four new tires for my car. I put the tires in my truck. Jump in to leave and my truck won't turn over. Not even a click. Tow job home. My starter was gone. Drive out to Wisconsin to tow my new Kioti tractor home to Ma. No issues at all. The next day I go to Walmart to pick up some items. I get out of my truck and all I can smell is brakes burning. Left front caliper is stuck. WTF. Another time I tow my boat to the lake to test run a new rebuilt motor. Coming home the truck just died in heavy city traffic. A positive terminal block connector went to crap. Had to have the truck and 24 foot boat towed home. AAA paid for the 93 mile tow for the transmission and failed starter tows. I had to pay for the truck and boat tow as AAA wouldn't cover it because I was hauling a trailer. Luckily the tow truck was big enough to haul both the truck and boat home together. Other than that I also had a blown head gasket in it at just over 110k. Block sealer fixed that issues. The bed rotted off the frame.

The 2006 is Mustang #10! If only I was affluent enough to have been able to keep and store some of them ... but I'm just glad I have this one!

- My 2000 was a Zinc Yellow GT Feature car ... only 917 were built!
- I had a 68 Factory 428 CJ w/4:30 Drag Pack Option ... Ford won the Winter Nationals with that car that year. Fully restored, I have seen them go at Barrett Jackson for 1/2 million.
- The 70 Boss 302 Body with Keystones, BFG Radial Trans Ams, and the Ford 427 motor was real nice!
- Had a 67 390 GTA with options I've never seen since. Brushed Aluminum interior, tilt away 3 spoke steering wheel, AC, console, overhead console w/map lights, 8 track tape player with roller door for tape storage. No power windows, that option was not yet available on a Mustang!
- My 68 GT 390 4 speed with an aggressive cam was the best power to weight Mustang I ever had. In a straight line, it was faster than my current Mustang. The 70 Boss with the 427 and my current Super Charged Mustang I put in a tie for second fastest, but they both handled way better than the 68. My current Mustang's handling is incredible (Steeda Suspension, 9.5" X18" Steeda wheels and Nitto 555 G-2 tires).

My current Mustang is the best "all around" of the group. It has reliability and economy that none of the classic ones can match. For example, I purchased this car new in late 2005 and have never had the AC serviced, and it still works well! As MechanicMatt likes to put it: and you have power windows and AC!

I will even meet people in the center of town rather than have them come to my house. Due to the amount of tools and saws I own I will never open my garage doors when a buyer is there. Paranoid, no. Careful, yes.
I can understand that for smaller things, but selling vehicles, tractors etc it's just silly. I have tens of thousands of tools and equipment setting around too. Locks just keep an honest man honest, if a thief wants something they are gonna take it. Having said that... I don't really ever sell anything, by the time I'm done with it, I'll either give it away or it's time for the scrap yard. Little things just get given away or tossed, well I don't mind shipping small stuff either.

In unrelated news.... today's project... firewall side converter can 100% be removed from the top side.. I actually made a bet with my uncle that it could and he swore it had to come out the bottom or side.... bs, just pulled the upper intake off and tons of room to get it out.
