Good evening, hope everyone had a good week. Spent some time with the family today sense I’m gone during the week so no firewood this week. Did get some more of the nice red fir last weekend though View attachment 1092736
Been running the big red saw at workView attachment 1092737
Chain is little bigger than the one on my saw…View attachment 1092738
I’ve owned ford, chevy, and dodge, they all seem to have about the same amount of problems. The one I had the least amount of problems with did happen to be a ford, and probably the best looking….😁View attachment 1092740
Credit to the previous owner for all the work he put into before I bought it.
Is your Buncher chain 404? I've been sharpening Mark's harvester chains of late :p
Like a really beefy 404 saw chain.

I’m running the processor, it has 2 saws, the butt saw is 3/4 pitch, top saw is 404. Buncher does have 3/4 pitch bar saw also. Mark’s processor and buncher are the same. Using the big grinder in Mark’s shop?

The chains he gave me are all 404 pitch. They looked bigger but measured out to 404. I used my Ore grinder with no problems. He doesn't have a grinder.
The first 7 just needed touch up. The other 5...he hit something :p
These are from his processor at the yard

Oh ok got ya. Firewood processor, that makes sense. He has a big grinder in his shop by his house for the 3/4 chain, I used it last year to grind about 20 chains for the waratah🤪IMG_1231.png

Funny…he has a big grinder for those but nothing for his saw chains, lol

I thought so too, he did say he bought some 3 in 1 files though😉
So far, the saw chains I’ve done for him weren’t too bad…just really uneven, right to left :p. Angles were all good, though.
unlike the tree service disasters I still have, lol

That was a great deal. My RAM listed at $42+++, I paid $31,183 for it if I recall correctly.
I have the same basic truck as Mike. It’s a 2018 that I found on a lot the last day of 2019 and picked it up the first day of 2020. Window sticker was $51,000, it was on clearance for $35,000. I have 75,000 miles on it and never a speck of trouble. It pulls my 10,000 pound dump trailer with no problem. I think people didn’t like the color, and was told it was a one year color, Magma Red. Clean, sitting in the shade it looks UPS Brown, in the sun, it looks like polished copper with tons of metal flake. In the rain it looks black.

Great deal on your truck. I did the same thing. I went there New Years Eve to test drive the 3 trucks. I went back Jan 2nd to buy it. The RAM place had 10 2500 SLT 2 door 4x4's in stock. I paid $70 over their invoice price. I believe that was the salesman's commission.

Two different.404 chisel chains , noticeably different sizes cutters , be using it on the big saws 👍, Square filed IMG_1432.jpegIMG_1268.jpeg

Them's fightin' words...... you Ford guy......

Yeah, I'm not very happy with the stock springs under my rig... way too squishy.... if I keep it around I'll probably put air bags under it (for when I need to tow broken fords & dodges)....
My previous 2003 Ford F250 4x4 got a set of 5,000 pound Firestone bags installed after I had a few bed fulls of 3/4 stone put in it. It was so low to the ground that I had to slide the tongue out of the trailer hitch before the guy could fill the bed up. A few trips later I showed up for stone. My truck was sitting just above level and weighing at 11,200 on the scales. It rode like a car on the short 8 mile trip home. When empty I only ran 5psi in them.

While it may be a small possibility to own too many saws in some galaxy far far away. That is blasphemous language here in this galaxy. Especially on this thread. Repent! :drinkingcoffee:
Okay, no nevermind, not going to happen. I have in my garage a 550XP MKII, (2) 372XP OEM'S, 272XP, 268 with a 272XP big bore setup, 394XP, 435, 440 and a top handle Stihl somewhere in hiding. I think that is way too many saws. After I clean up a few and run them they will be leaving to go where they can be put to work. All I need is the 550XP, 440, 394XP and my original 372XP. The rest I bought to clean, fix and resell. There is a big market here for the early 2 and 3 series professional saws.

With 15 running saws (down from 20) I often don't use them all in any given year! I don't need more saws or more guns ... even though every now and then I think I want one!

Did just recently buy some 150 grain Speer Grand slam 150 grain bullets to try in my 270 WSM, a gun I have not shot in quite a while. Those bullets had some VG reviews, so I will see how they shoot. Thinking my 14 year old grandson may want to try it. Gun is a Model 70 Black Shadow.

I find that the copper bullets are just too long for the short cartridges.

The gun shoots well and is not too heavy, but I prefer the tang safety on my Rugers.

Thought you guys would like this.
This is a friend of ours, he turns 82 this week, still running his dolmar 7900:chainsaw::muscle:.
