Got lucky (?) and scored a BUNCH of firewood. But it's in the gully and the guys who did the mitigation piled the wood above the slash piles. Making this old broad work too hard! Sides too steep for tractor or ATV so have to clear away a path between slash piles and roll the chunks down the hill. I think some of it will be for next year! Haha. May take the Ford Ranger 4x4 down there and see if that helps by making fewer loads to have to take out. Yep, a Ford!

is there even any air in the tires or are they solid rubber tires special ordered from Harbor Freight?

Had another racoon attack in the coop, lost 2 more layers. I had put wire fence top to bottom including the roof. A possum had chewed holes on the chicken wire. I even put barb wire loops along the top. I have a 38" long have a heart trap to catch the raccoon but it trips it and backs out of it. Anyone have a good trap for raccoons? It turned out that they crawled in from the bottom in a space the size of a 2-4. in the run to the coop I have 22 eggs in the incubator. I hope they are fertile, haven't seen the rooster going after the hens, with my luck he only liked the birds that were killed.

We had a few problems with fat skunks and coons that were too fat to get into a havahart. Get a large cardboard box and cut a "door" in it just a bit too small for him to step through. Put a bunch of fragrant food scraps in the box. Put a couple of leghold traps in and around the doorway. When he gets caught in one, he'll dance around and get caught in another. Coons caught in one trap will often chew their limb off. If you can catch mutiple legs they'll give up and wait for their destiny. Dispatch with shovel or .22 short.

Yup, it's called a 220 Conibear!

They are the only way to deal with them!!

I have only used 110's and 330's. That is a good suggestion, I will have to keep my eyes open for a couple of 220's.

I posted pics of my 330's on facebook one time. That riled a few people up lol.

Jeez you guys have been busy! Two and half pages in the past day without a Backyard Lumberjack appearance!

Yesterday morning I picked up a real nice Poulan 361 and Jonsereds 601. Both saws run nicely. Didn't need more saws but the guy gave a fair deal because I am a saw guy and I was polite and punctual.

Spent more time cleaning my garage after that. I am up to 2 full stalls of floor space PLUS all of my snowmobiles, 4 wheelers, and lawnmowers are inside. (Garage is 42x45 so I kind of consider it an 8 stall.)

A friend came up and helped me put a receiver hitch on my son's truck as the bumper brackets were failing so a bumper hitch was out of the question.

Ended the day with some really good grilled chicken wings rubbed with cajun seasoning, grilled over charcoal, and then mopped with Anchor sauce and dipped in blue cheese.
