We may be in the midst of a chainsaw war here. I can tell you all Stihl will win at my place. Mostly cause it's all I have. Do enjoy all the pretty colors of saws some of you flash.

Darn near looks like some sort of messed up rainbow at my place. Stihl, husqy, Echo, pioneer, mcculloch, redmax, homelite, sears, David bradly and Lancaster pump Co.

I used to cut all the wood to heat my house with a non-AV Homelite. I know what it is like to cut on a cold winter day and for your hands and arms to still be vibrating ten minutes after you've finished cutting. I don't like running a non-AV saw ... not even for 30 seconds!
If I had one, it would be a wall hanger, but in truth I gave them away (which may have been a mistake). Between the lack of AV, and the recurring recoil problems I had with the Homelite saws, after I got my 044, I NEVER USED THEM AGAIN! Twice as fast, 10X more reliable, and smoother to operate.

I don't really run any of my old saws that don't have av, or have junk av. Hands start to go numb and tingle for hours afterwards. Even my grandpops 031av kills my hands in a half hour. The homelite, David bradley type saws with no av are just conversation peices at this point in my life. I may get them out and run them from time to time, but that's seldom anymore. Besides parts are kinda hard to get for some of them. All I'd really like to add to my collection is a big McCullough,(like a 125) and any twin cylinder or rotary powered saws. Which besides the echo 610 are a pain to find and people want obsurd money for something that shouldn't really be ran often.

i like the 'holes in the tin foil cover' tech. will have to try that. and i am in need of another jug of bar lube. i got a couple gallons of used motor oil.... hmm

It said they had an open box so they included them, too. So I got 24 files for the price of 12 that i ordered. Woot!
sounds great! guess i know who to send my chains to next time so won't be so long out of service condition. i was thinking of just sending them to chipper, but not sure he has enuff files!!!
