I got another delivery of logs. Some firewood, some for milling.

Most of the pieces are White Oak ... should be good for building another hunting stand.

But the two large pieces are Sugar Maple. Not sure how well that will stand up to the elements, but I should get a lot of boards out of them, they are large diameter.

There is also a Walnut log visible in back of the new delivery (in the 3rd pic). That is from a tree that was on my property but was cut down because it was a leaner.

It said they had an open box so they included them, too. So I got 24 files for the price of 12 that i ordered. Woot!
That is a great deal. i just ordered a box of files from Cutters choice and it was a better deal than what could be had at ace hardware. They wanted $9.99 for two files! these have been performing well and last well compared to the crappy county line files at TSC.

A bit late for this but just what is that tool in the second picture? I've neveer seen anything like it.

It's a bender for mild steel stock. Different dies for shapes and sizes. Sometimes used for gate/fence scroll work but can be used for anything.

A couple extra kisses .
😋

sorry, some pix that follow such are not for general public viewing!!!!!

oic, u mean the saw's chain.... well, i thot the sawdust chips would be backup enuff for my comments. 🤩 plse advise if u feel to the contrary -
I couldn't even tell those were chips, gonna need a good pic of the cutters lol.
i like the 'holes in the tin foil cover' tech. will have to try that. and i am in need of another jug of bar lube. i got a couple gallons of used motor oil.... hmm 🤔
It works great on saws for bar oil, and many other small engines and whatnot.

i was thinking of just sending them to chipper, but not sure he has enuff files!!! 🤩
I have a ton of files, but I wouldn't file a chain in that bad of condition unless I was a long way from home and had no other choices. I did that last spring on a job flush cutting stumps, it was a long day.

All this discussion is improving your cap awareness, keep up the good work.
Ran quite a few tanks thru the little beast(the ms200) recently, and a few in the ms261. I need to get the 550's out and let them stretch their legs a bit too.
Saw this video today, maybe I can get a lightweight saw with proper flippys .
Looks a bit heavier than the stihl ms201 rear handle though unfortunately. But I bet a lot of that is in the handlebar, it sticks out quite a bit from the saw on the operators side(and it's aluminum), not sure if that's a good thing or not?
He told me in the comments he will add sub-titles tomorrow.

I used to cut all the wood to heat my house with a non-AV Homelite. I know what it is like to cut on a cold winter day and for your hands and arms to still be vibrating ten minutes after you've finished cutting. I don't like running a non-AV saw ... not even for 30 seconds!

If I had one, it would be a wall hanger, but in truth I gave them away (which may have been a mistake). Between the lack of AV, and the recurring recoil problems I had with the Homelite saws, after I got my 044, I NEVER USED THEM AGAIN! Twice as fast, 10X more reliable, and smoother to operate.
I cleared my land for our house back in 1973 with non AV saws. I remember it very well with the numb hands and arms.

prefile foto, and to be honest, one cutter does have a double nick it it. i thot i had mentioned it had kissed a T-post, time before.... actually, now that u mention it, given some thots on the subject, and that i am giving the lil saw a once over, tune up, etc. think i will retire that chain! in the interest of safety!
